I think you need a TV tuner card for that rite?'':S :S

No you dont, thats for viewing cable channels and recording on your computer.

Sato needs it the other way round.

I tried to connect using an S-Video to component cable(which has 3 divided male cables in the end for the TV - red, yellow, white) from my 8800GT and it worked well.

Can i plz know abt the quality? Ws it Good? (Obviuosly its nt HDTV, but still ws it good enuf for gaming? - COmparable to quality on monitor when seeing from approx 5 feet?

N S-Video is the best option out of VGA/DVI -> Component (if exists) na?

What will connect the TV to tht component cable provided by 8800GT (C Pic)?

Even I had used the s-video to component cable with my 8800gt to connect to tv,the quality is enough for watching movies(sd ones),but I wont recommend it for gaming, the reso is really low for gaming. You can use the normal rca cables which you get u the dvd players.

Thnx for the input guys, will try the S-Video to Component option 1st n till then if any1 is sure abt worthy quality improvement by using the suggested DVI-> Component cable, il go for it.

S-Video is no where near the quality of Component Video. Google it and you will know. There is not much difference between S-Video and Composite Video.

When i tried with the S-video, somehow i got an interlaced display.

Good for movies but big No-No for gaming. Text looks horrible.

The DVI-Component Adapter cable that h@cker posted looks similar to the one from MX. MX is charging nearly double of what h@cker posted through Deal Extreme!

Nice one h@cker. :hap2:

Some people are shameless.

Repped

I was just planning on trying the same on my 25" Samsung TV couple of days back. I have a 8600GT with 2 DVI outputs only. No S-Video output. I enquired locally for the DVI-RCA output cable without success. It would be great if it were available locally or atleast within India. Keep us updated sato1986, if you manage to get hold of one!:hap2:

Hey!

Sorry to hijack ya thread, But what would be the best way to connect my old 4000Mx card ( 2 VGA , 1 S-Vid) to my panasonic Tau (composite , Component and Rf ) ?

Are they S-vid To composite connectors available? I only wish to use this as poormans HTPC.. :P

thanks1
