I need to buy me an X220 thinkpad. I have asked around and I know of no one coming to India in the next 30 days. I need the laptop within 30 days. I can buy it off ebay or from the Lenovo store and avail discounts on it. The maximum cost would be 1000US$.
If I am to ship it using my Aramex shop and ship account or via ICC world, how much would it cost me including shipping and duties?
 
^ This is what ICC shows when I put in the value as 1000 USD and shipping weight 8 lbs (as per Amazon)

I recollect 12.4 % duty on laptops.

lets ask shop amd ship.

I trust them.

I had sent email to SnS and this is the reply I got from Anuradha

The duty on laptops is 14.8 % on the customs assessed value and shipping charges are 10 USd for the 1st 500 gms and 8 USd for every additional 500 gms+10.3 % service tax

The duty on laptops is 14.8 % on the customs assessed value .... so if customs says laptop is worth of USD $1600 and even if the bill is there of USD $1000 .... u will face problems clearing customs .... that's what I have seen with friends while using SnS
