I dont have a DVI enabled monitor....so i use a convertor.........i tried a convertor on another agp for a dvi --- > agp.....WORKS fine...:(......

maybe ur 6600GT AGP is corrupt :( or the slot problem which is rare though.. same happened with my 6600GT AGP MSI version. it got fried.. and no display

Hi Hanzy,

most bios' have a setting that allow you to choose between onboard video and agp video. Have you made this change? if not then connect the onboard video, go into the BIOS, make the change (selecting AGP). Then power down, install the AGP card and restart. It should work. I used to face this same problem when I installed a new agp card. .... drove me nuts! :D

I use a convertor too, it seems the added weight of the convertor makes the DVI connections loose. Give it some support to rest upon and try again.

Ideally on the 6600gt you have both the connectors , RGB and DVI-D , so why don't you try connecting it to the 15 pin RGB , if no go then try to remove the card and check the connectors yourself , see if the connector is loose or if there are any discolorations on the gold teeth , or if you smell any burnt marks . try cleaning it with a dry cloth and try seating it . by now you have tried everything . if this does not still works , i would recommend you see your Hardware vendor about this as soon as possible . all the best .

What make is the card ??

I had a BIG 6600 GT which had the same symptoms. Returned it to Big Byte in Lamington and got a replacement.... a BFG 6600 GT OC OEM dual DVI :)
