i dont kno weather this is the right place to post this or not...
but here i go... [moderator may delete this post acc. to his wish]
my insti hav blocked almost every imp site.. and hav limited the band width to download speed of 10-15 KBps but for teachers account [we hav that cyberoam login thing] it goes up to 60 to 80 KBps...
but ther is a sutdent wo wrote some script and installed it in the server or something.. and now wat ever he downloads he gets 300 to 400 kBps...
wat ever link he wants to download he pastes it in a site that looks like it is a proxy site... the adress is like http://[server ip]/plugins/info/function/sure.php
my other frnd told me he actually installed some script in the server or something..
i hav totally no idea wat he did.. can any one xplain me wat he might hav done..
i think it has something to do vith scripts..

it could anything from scripts to ip ranges etcc

i remember our college also had that cyberoam client but some ip ranges which i got through some contacts were not restricted plus for browsing you can use proxy sites like mathtunnel.com

mathtunnel and all r proxy site.. ican bypass... thers no prob ther.. the prob is speed... wat he did is he created a site that looks exactly like a proxy site.. it has a space whr u can paste the adress and hit go... and if he pastes a download link it gets downloaded in 300-400KBps.. i cant use tat.. he told i cud be traced.. he does some mac dynamic stuff.. tat i hav no idea abt.. but one thing is for sure... that the ip he uses does not comm under our insti.. it is the ip of some software technology parks of india...

i checked the ip statics in What Is My IP Address? - IP Lookup Results.. it came software technology of india...

how do i get a dynamic ip... is ther any way they wont kno my ip if i use the server to download...

most of colleges have multiple internet connection and all are connected to the server room and you get the net speed and restrictions according to the ip range provided to you, at least that was the case in our college and the ip range i am talking about is the ip range of your n/w card which determines under which n/w you fall in, so the best you can do is check your friends n/w connections tcp/ip settings or the tcp/ip settings of any other pc which has better and unrestricted access.
