Hi,

I am getting a weird problem with my APC UPS 500....:hap2:

Am hearing "flick flick click flick flick" sound while working.... The sound comes for a few min and then its normal..... I don see any voltage drop while i hear this sound....

Is it the problem of the UPS or power problem ??:S
Its 1 yr old and how often should we change the battery of the UPS ???

did u upgrade ur comp?when ur comp is under load it takesup more power,if dats more than ur ups capabilities then it makes dat sound,,wats ur smps ans ups ratings..u should change the batt every three year,,dats wat apc site says

No... I did not upgrade my comp.. Its the same config for the past 1 yr.....
 
Me thinks the 'clicks' are from a relay inside the UPS possibly due to the voltage fluctuations. I maybe wrong though.

When the battery's about to expire, the red LED starts blinking (or is turned on) indicating the time to swap the battery. So this's ruled out.
