Graphic Cards Help Q6600 and 780i SLI mobo, need help with gfx card

Hello people of Techenclave,

I come here to ask you about Graphics Card for my new system, I cant find single good community to help me on this but this looks promising.

Okay I have ordered
Intel Quad 6600
EVGA 780i Mobo (LINK)
I will be buying 4 gb ram here and a sexy cabinet
need help with PSU and Graphics card, I have budget of 10k including ram in it... I was thinking of Zotac or Palit 9600GT but guess if I buy that, i would be short of ram.

dunno, need some views on this.
 
in 10 k budget..

2x 2GB Transcend 800MHz - 2x 1250 - 2.5k

CoolerMaster Extremepower460W - 2.4k

Palit HD4670 512MB Super - 5.9k

s lil over ur budget..

alternatively...

2x 2GB GSkills 800MHz CL5 4GBPQ - 3.9k

Corsair VX450W - 3.9k

8600GT 512MB DDR3 - 3.5k

Thouugh cm460w n vx450w were suitable in opposite suggestions...bt the budget doesnt permitt..
 
aye I have heard alot bout Corsair VX450W, will go with that only
and whats the difference between
2x2gb GSkills 800MHz - and 2x2gb transend 800mhz

also can you tell me exact price of Zotac 9600 GT Amp!

and what is the difference between Amp and normal one?

I really want a sexy graphics card so I will increase my budget abit but am undecided as to which card to buy?

so I will clear out with the options I have right now
either I can go for Palit 9600GT or Zotac9600 GT
heard both are around 6.5

but whats up with Zotac 9600 GT Amp? its around 8k
 
at 8k.. getting 9600GT is pointless

either decide components according to budget or decide budget according to the components..:)

have seen ppl fluctuating budget from 10 to 20k in no time...:p (including myself..)

its like u set 10k limit...bt in 12k u hav a decent offering..

then u start look all offerings at 12k n then u realise u have better option at 15k...n so on...

though for 12k this is what i would suggest..

vx450 - 3.9k

HD4670 512MB Super - 5.8k OR 9600GT 512 at 6.5k

2x 2GB GSkills 800MHz 4GBPQ - 3.9k

better option mayb available if u willing to buy old/2nd hand stuff from market.
 
dont get a ATI card and waste the SLI capability of the board , get atleast 9600GT and increase the budget little bit or get only 2 gb ram now and 2 gb later . and get a VX450 , later SLI 9600GT and enjoy :p

yaar I will get 9600Gt only which company but? PALIT or ZOTAC?

and whats the difference between AMP edition?

and one of my friend suggested that I should go for PSU above 650 as I have 3 harddisks and its quad core, so if theres lot of processing... 450 might not be enough.

lemme know ur thoughts on this?

and what all options do I have for 650W PSU?
 
get zotac 9600GT , even palit is decent if its cheaper , AMP one is just a bit overclocked , but u can overclock stock one more than that easily , so get stock one and save money .

u can get corsair TX650 , it will cost around 6.5k , also u can try getting cooler master real power 550w , som1 got it for 4.2k from nehru place , any good 500w+ psu will be good even for 9600GT sli . u can also get VX550 but its overpriced .
 
ROFL :bleh: yeah exactly...get atleast Corsair 450VX and if you can stretch your budget then get a 620HX awesome psu.:)

Why does it always happen to us,

I started with a budget of $1500, by the time I got the first lot of parts it was $2000, and when I ended up it was over $3500 lol, More then twice of what I started with.
 
we always wanna get sumthin we cant afford at the present...n doesnt matter how long v stretch our budget...we always endup spending more than that stretched budget...:ashamed: but still:tongue: n:hap2:

^^ Thats a waste of a card, 1gb is pratically pointless on those chips, 256mb is the sweet spot on those cards, and are better priced too.

Currently get a 9600gt, Zotac stock one is for 6.3k odd or so online, the 5 yr warranty on it should be the deciding factor. As for RAM Gskill pi black are the modules peeps here are opting for, get those if can....
 
okay before I actually go and buy... heres the confirmed deal, please lemme know if theres anything I can change for good

Zotac 9600GT (6.5 K)

PSU either Coolermaster 600 or Crosair 450.. (4 k)

Gskill Ram 2x2 (3.9)

Cabinet (2k) I forgot to mention this lol

which comes to around 17000

why am I not amazed?

anywhere I can cut? even after cutting ram and coolermaster, it comes to 14-15k..

and Crosair 800mhz 2x2gb ram, Rs. 1440 each...

got it today today only

the guy who sells Zotac 6600GT in Nehru Place, New Delhi was saying its for 6.9 k and the other one which is Zotact 6600GT Amp is for 8.3k

hmm any place I can get for lower rates?

I am pretty sure u got this stuff from SMC.

He always does this.
Ask him for Gskill or transcend Rams, he will say Corsairs are better and
Ask him for Corsair PSU, he will say cooler master is 600 W so it is much better than 450W corsair!!!

Any ways, Nice purchase
