A friend of mine has 1gbx2 ram sticks.he wants to sell them and buy 2gbx2 ram sticks.
He was quoted for 1.6k for each stick of transcend ram from a local shop in mumbai. So the questions are?
1. Should he buy them now or wait for the prices to fall.
2. What are the current prices at lamington road.should he buying it from there?
He can postpone his decision of buying by one month not more should he wait for that time?
And lastly at what price should he sell his ram.they are 667mhz cl4 transcend rams? And where can he sell them coz he is not registered on te.Thanks in advance.

DDR2 1gb 800mhz - 1.6k

Now DDR2 2gb ~ DDR3 2gb prices. Tell your friend to upgrade the mobo and ram to DDR3 combo.

DDR2 prices of Transcend 2gb 800mhz - 2k . The prices are going to rise further and DDR3 is going to be mainstream from January once Intel Core i3 , core i5 releases.

Your friend should either stay with his current setup or go for DDR3 mobo and ram
 
Nope he categorically said it is 2gb.why would he buy another 1gb ram when he has only 2ram slots on his mobo.even the shopkeeper said he should inquire only when he is buying coz prices are fluctuating a lot.
Regarding upgrade i suggested him that but he says he would do that later next year when he has some cash. Also i read a thread here on te saying that ram prices are going to decrease in the month of dec.

2gb DDR2 800mhz Transcend - 2k

It can never be 1.6k. Not now and not in the future also. Its prices will rise further.

I have been monitoring the transcend 800mhz 2gb sticks and actually prices have fallen down by about 150 bucks in last 2 weeks. Hoping for further fall soon.1.6k may be possible.

Its Rs 1975 for 2 gb DDR3 Transcend 800 mhz. Where have the prices fallen huh ?
 
pc guide quoted the price to me for 2gb transcend was 1700/-. I think people are holding out till dd3 becomes popular.

Two weeks ago 2GB DDR2 was 2299 shipped on ebay. Now its 2139 bucks. Get the right coupons and you are down to around 1711 bucks. :)

Do not take any offence but thats what he was quoted for.he was quoted for 3.2k for 4 gb ram.if there are nobody suggesting any decrease then i think i should suggest him to buy them now coz with i3 release round the corner the prices of only ddr3 ram will decrease.

If some one is saying his 1st hand experience why would you show him a website page.if you would have asked any of dealers and said so then it made sense.
Not everybody updates prices on their sites on daily basis.

I asked the prices in our city last week and 4gb DDR2 Transcend is quoted 3.95k

Moreover www.deltapage.com is pretty reputable and renownable to everyone in TE. They update their prices almost everyday.

Sorry , but i think its the price of 2x2gb 667mhz rams that your friend was quoted.

Yes wait till January 3 when i3 , i5 comes out and then buy DDR3 rams then prices will decrease

Please no hard feelings
 
Will wait for some more suggestions and tell to either wait or go ahead with the purchase. More comments will be needed to make up my mind.
