Hey but don't u think a 800mm fan is way too big. It's nearly 3 big school rulers. Is it a wall mount fan or something like that?:P

and UK boy, u can try out hwmonitor from the guys that made cpu-z

it shows current and max of all data that sensors provide(mobo and G'card too)

hi again guys

i sorted my problem out, S.T.A.L.K.E.R!! i installed and patched it wrong and it has been causing me problems gallore as i have always re-installed it the wrong way. also one of the patches made it crash back to desktop on loading a saved game.

I have also got one of the old pci clips from when i opened it up for card and twisted it, i then mounted an 80mm fan to this and fastened it in like another card on an angle beloww the cooler, this then accelerates the air coming in from the front to blow over the cooler and out of the open vent undr the card. this in turn stops the warm air being taken up towards the cpu/ram etc.

it is wicked now and top temp in stalker is 72, i use nvtemplogger to log in game load temps that is proving very good. stalker is the most intensive game i have got and it runs like call of duty now i got the patch issue sort.

^^ in most newer games, i think your proccy will hold you back much more than the graphics card.

OC your proccy a bit :P
 
same problem with me as well.

gpu temps: 55C idle, 70C-95C (depending on the game).

i tried to change the fan setting(by rivatuner and nvidia ntune) from auto to direct control but it was again on auto control after rebooting.

please help.

I have took ddr400 down to 333 and ht multiplier to x4 and left the cpu in bios at 200, installed clockgen and gradually took cpu up to 250. has made all gameplay better except stalker. i have read that stalker is riddled with bugs and all patches and mods seam to mess the game up somewhat; also it crashes back to desktop once i get to the 4 saved game mark. frustrating but i now know it wasnt my graphics card and thnx for comment regarding cpu oc. have made image on farstone virtual drive pro as been also recently having probs with stalker dvd not reading (secure rom probs) if it works in virtual drive then at least it will be playing from sata instead of dvd :D hopefully pcs bottleknecks have been reduced and can get a full game without having to leave it on without saving :@

Hey wot u sayin bout stalker lol haha yeah its bad but is a bad habit to get into also.

I have now set cpu 250 in bios and ht is still x4 and ram still at 333. i just fitted zalman vf1000 and it idles now at 35c and that fur rendering thingy can only get it up to max temp of 45c.

xfx8600gt clocks:

gpu core 700mhz

shader 1445

memory 960 ddr 1920

all looking good and i think i may stop at that lol

deffo gotta get vf1000 for ultimat non water cooling man :hap2:

Hmmm...I've got 1.4ns hynix chips and even my bios revision is different. Did you by any chance flash the bios on yours ?

EDIT: ohh...Just read that you bought the 'fatality' one. Guess the extra dough isn't just for wendel's mugshot on the box :rofl:
 
All i have done with my bios is save original using NiBiTor then up the clocks by 10mhz per flash then flash with new on boot floppy with nvflash

Which card do u have dude? Coz the lowest temp i heard is 41(idle with Zalman cooler). Try Fur rendering and then check ur max temp. How do u measure the card's temperature?
I max 75 on my card now while playing UT3 at 1280x1024. :(
