it's ColorsIT 450W
there is a reason. Instead of trying to OC and risking it to burn, I have donated my earlier two PCs, to a NGO in a small village in Raigad.
There is no connection between OCing and donating- but good thing you did by donating your PCs. :thumb:
And i am not suggesting you OC- i already accept and respect your stand and hence said get an E8400, didn't i? :).
But when anything is done the right way with the right info and judgement, there is very low risk of damage.
And burning processors is almost out of the question these days if you don't pump in insane volts (infact most chips OC pretty well at default these days) and keep monitoring the temps and volts, with thermal trips for foolproof safety.
And nothing to laugh over the Colorsit450. :(
God forbid and touchwood- whatever you may have avoided to burn, as per your thoughts on OCing, the Colorsit450 may take care of that and anything else too.
No offense intended. :cool2:

@ APex, thanks dude for confirming my doubt. I wish Abit had that feature. It is so useful for checking friends' hdds and data recovery.
And the biggest use is to switch between different OSs on different HDDs. Anyway as you guys have said Abit is good mobo.

Precisely what I told him before; to press the Delete key and set the Boot device; :|

Dude, colorsIT was a joke, i bought Corsair VX450 only. And by the looks of it, it must be one of the better made ones.
Thanks a lot to you guys for making me purchase the Corsairs. Even the RAM modules with heatsinks looks so awesome.

What UPS do you use along with the VX450?

PowerCOM 1KVA.

The CPUs which i donated were AMDs. As you know, they didn't have thermal protection so if i had made any mistake they would have straight away burnt.

But i might OC this E8400 after 3 years (warranty period), coz Intel CPUs shutdown themselves at extreme high temperature. So i might join your "clan".

Nahice; :thumb:

For an added info click onto my siggy to see hw the VX450 fairs against the rest crappy ones; :P

And those DHX ram modules u've got are real VFM for 3.1k; :)

dude..

i really dont think you should be carrying that siggy of yours. Corsair is a good company with some very very good products. however, it really looks shitty when they come up with senseless publicity stunts like this.

recommending a Corsair product on the basis of user and other webbased reviews is one thing. recommending it on the basis of a publicity video made by Corsair themselves is totally unacceptable :P

at the very least you can change the title you've given to the link in your sig and stop pointing it out to ppl as a reason to avoid el-cheapo psus.

No, i don't know? :hap5:

Which AMD processors are you talking about?

ya, K6, K7, K8 families. At that time they were offering the very best VFM, and performance, against Intel and Via procies.
BTW one of my friend's X2 5000+ did burnt away coz he forgot to apply thermal paste..so still doubt newer AMD CPUs.

I'm also looking at similar budget. I want a balanced system, so I am looking to spend more on GPU, and OC the processor.

ATM, I have decided on IP35-E and E7200. Is there a better combination out there for a similar budget?

can't comment on Mobo, it's too early for me. But I can see many options in the BIOS to tweak the CPU easily and precisely.

K8????? :hap5:

Athlon64 had thermal trip afaik.

K6 and K7 i dunno as i was a 200% idiot then.

Thanks to TE and my gurus, i am only 100% idiot now. :D
But if my poor memory is not failing me too soon, i think i had seen thermal throttling and/or overheat warning for athlon XP in an Asus mobo.

Then God help his Intel chip as well. :P
IIRC, you do need to enable these options in bios if not selected by default.

I hope you explore your Abit bios too and get acqauinted a bit- OCing or not. :)

Ip35-E and e7200 is very good combo if you want to overclock the cpu . This board has good oc options .

yes getting a descent mobo and getting cheap intex power supplies is not good, u can also try the ATI HD 2400 cheap cards till Rs 3500 and good results for games like bio shock
