PC Peripherals HELP: touchpad doesn't work

hey
my touchpad has suddenly stopped working :( i switched off the laptop last night and if refuses to work today. i've come a long way to TE using tabs and arrow keys. please help :'(

details mate...this could be anything defective hardware/driver issue/Windoze problem...

try a restart and then get into Device manager and try posting a screenshot
 
I think you have disbaled the touchpad by mistake. Try to check the manual for hot keys that disable the touchpad and try to re-enable it. Like on my acer it is Function+F7 to toggle between disbale and enable of touchpad.
