[HELP] Unable to install The Risen and Saboteur.... (VC redistributable error)

Hi,

I am getting a weird error:huh: related to VC++ during the installation of The risen and the saboteur. Here are the snips of the problem.




I have tried installing it manually by browsing it in the disk and also by downloading the latest version from microsoft website. I am using windows 7 X64 build 7600. And yeah i have downloaded the correct X64 version not the X86 version:hap2:..... Surprising thing is that this error also occured in the installation of nfs Shift but the game worked perfectly without any problem.....:S

solved it by using the Windows cleanup utility to remove all the previous and current versions of vcredist. i guess some past corrupt installation was the culprit. Tried installing Saboteur again after rebooting and it worked like charm.....

I hope this might help some of you who are having same problem

By worked like charm i meant that installation worked like charm :bleh Though playing saboteur on my ATI 4850 is another story Still waiting for the patch.

Its works flawlessly on Win XP. I think the problem is only under Win7 or Vista.

Yes. I was half way through the game on Windows XP with my HD4850. As soon as I shifted to Windows 7, BAM! It came up with the menu freezing issue. ATI really f*cks up big time on their drivers.

^Is this issue with Windows 7 + [Any ATI card] or is it just limited to the 4850? I dont want to switch to XP just for this game. Damn!
