I am looking for some serious advice regarding the sale of my laptop ..

I have attached the configuration as an attachment but just to give a overview

T7250 - 20Ghz

2gb Ram PC2-5300

Intel 4965 AGN support Wifi card

4.1 Harman Kardon speakers

17" TruBrite LCD Display @ 1440X900

NVidia SLI dual 8600gt

HDMI ouput

Svideo output

etc

I mean what sort of price can i expect for this and would it be a wise decision to sell it at that price point ..

EDIT : My dad got me this Laptop from US around 1.5 yrs back ... Back then it was for $1.9k but i knw that laptop value depreciates heavily

i guess you would do well to get about 30-35 for it considering its 1.5 yrs and you get similar/better configurations today for around 42-45 (Acer 5739G / HP DV6-1110ax) brand new

but then iw as thinking would it we wise to sell it at that price point since thats 1/3rd the original price at which i bought this ..

If you or your family member will be using this laptop, it is wise to keep it rather than selling it. But if you think, you do not need it anymore, it is better to sell it. Keeping it with you and trying to sell it later, will only fetch you much lesser sale price.

is there any specific reason to sell it? and what are your computing requirements? that may us to provide better suggestion.

the reason i am selling this is i dont play games n stuff .. For normal stuff this laptop is an overkill hence i planning to upgrade to 13" tablet which is more user friendly n stuff ..

now that you wont be playing games, it makes sense to sell it. your lappy has a pretty good config, particularly the dual 8600gt in sli.

you can expect about 30-35k. selling points are the 8600gt in SLI and the 4.1 Harman Kardon speakers. this should help you fetch a good price.

but consider this, if you buy a new lappy, there wont be much difference in terms of the overall config. may be u'll geta proccy with more cache and a higher chipset mobo, which again u dont need. the new features would only be that of a tablet pc ans a smaller screen. but you will still be paying about 45k+ for the same features which your current lappy has. so if you sell your lappy for say 35k and buy a new one for 45k, then you are paying 10k for the tablet pc/touch screen features. does it make sense? if feel not!

stick around with your current lappy. plus you have the freedom of playing games in case if you feel so anytime later.

Thats a very good suggestion man .. Even i was thinking the same .. The new laptops i can buy from 'india' will have max some 9 series card and that too not in SLI .. So config wise it wont be much of a improvement .. Plus i have seen the speakers in this Dell and HP laptops and they suck compared to this 4.1 config ..
