how did you reinstall the os, is it from a win xp cd or from the recovery disks. seems like the driver is not installed. check the device manager

go to the hardware profiles, locate your wireless device and then right click and update driver. (leave the driver cd in the drive ofcourse)

download it from the Acer support site na :)

edit: I looked at the Acer support site and seems the Extensa 6600 series uses one of the following three wireless chipsets

Driver links:

ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com/notebook/extensa_6600/driver/802abg(intel).zip

ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com/notebook/extensa_6600/driver/802bg(ambit).zip

ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com/notebook/extensa_6600/driver/802bg(atheros).zip

Now instead of d/oing a hit & trial with all three drivers, you could also look at the device manager to determine your wireless card chipset and downlaod the appropriate one from the three listed above

thanks a lot :D reps for you

superczar must be busy with some thing else... so

right click on the network controller under other devices the one besides the yellow '?'

and select update driver and then 'install from a specific location'. (your downloaded file)

This means your system is using the Wireless configuration utility installed by the Acer driver package...

Look around under "All Programs" to find the Acer wireless config utility to set it up
