Help with CSS

I tried running CSS after a long time yesterday and I noticed that in the advanced video options there is no hardware DX Level.Its at 0.0 instead of 9.0 :S.And also even if I change it, after like 2 minutes of playing, i get alot of artifacts and then an error message pops up saying failed to load matt smething something.....Please help! TIA.

2x1GB OCZ

after all that jazz you get an msi rs482...

anyway what drivers are you using? and the board has onboard video too, you sure its disabled?
 
Try to update CSS from start and update your card drivers and then reinstall DirectX 9.0C latest edition.... Begin with re-updating source, uninstalling and reinstalling Ati drivers and then a DX9.0C install....

Hmmm... Get a updated backup copy from a friend and install steam from scratch... Your Steam installation is screwed...
