Do try get max possible warranty for the oleds. Do check for burn in cover(burn issue has been reduced a lot, but risk is still there with oleds). Specifically ask to clarify if burn in covered or not.

Sales guy said that the 3 year warranty covers burn in, but can't really trust them.

Get that in writing or tell them to email you the warranty TnC.
Looking at the LG ads daily in newspapers, they are providing up to 5 year warranty. Have had mixed reports of their burn in cover. Will have to ask at store too.

He is lying through his teeth. No company gives a burn in warranty for OLED.

I have seen many "goodwill" replacements from LG in the US though. No idea how LG India handles these issues.

As for PQ, OLED hands down. I have the C9, and it has spoiled most other screens for me. Turn off your lights, start playing Pacific Rim in 4k HDR, and see the visual nirvana. BLISS.
Also, LG Webos has a shit version of Hotstar app. No HDR support. That's the only company refusing to fix their Webos app. Just FYI.

In 2020 a group of people on another Indian forum claimed they got a mail from LG India head that the 3 years extended warranty would cover burn in for their group purchase.

AFAIK, extended warranty T&C specifically mentions burn in (image retention in their terms) and dead pixels < 5 are not covered for LG OLED tvs.

Welcome to OLED life, now you won't be able to go back to other displays.

Feeling so bad that last 4 to 5 years all my netflix has been on a 12 inch macbook or 13 inch window laptop.

I don't watch nf or other streaming services but I do watch some programs created for TV (480p - 1080p) on my 1080p monitor. Most of the time I don't play them at fullscreen because they seem "too big". At FS, they seem fine at around 4.5ft. According to Rtings distance calculator, that's 1.5x the recommended distance. I guess these programs are made to be viewed like that. Do you folks with big screens maximize everything? Honestly, I can't find a use for a big TV so would be grateful if they still mad better smaller TVs/ monitors. The only time I want a 4k / bigger screen is when I play "4k walk vids".
