@antarcticprince: Dude can you tell me how did you contact XFX?

If you have a mail from them saying that they will replace the card then please forward it to me as rashi is saying that they won't replace the card until i show them a proof that xfx has claimed to replace the card..Please reply asap!

R U from KOLKATA???

if so den its a mistake to buy 9800GT beacuse u can find only green edition there....

Those bas***ds ripped my friend with 9800gt Green edition @ 6.8k

I continuously told him that its green edition when he was buying

Poor chap didn't listen to me and is paying the price

Though he paid extra 2k more to get GTS 250 from XFX , but is repenting like hell if he had spent 8.9k for ATI 4870 rather than 9800gt Green edition and then GTS 250

So see before you buy. Give the shopkeeper extra 1k beneath the table if he directly changes your card to GTS 250

Please do your homework rather than "I have the money , so i'll spend it on whatever i want . What's it to you "

First of all before panicking, you should know that the reference clocks for the 9800GT are GPU clock of 600Mhz, Memory 900 Mhz, Shader 1500 Mhz.

Your card with the above specs would be about around 10% slower than the referenced clocked 9800GT.

Like Aces mentioned, check your 3Dmark06 scores to do a comparison of the GPU power.

The Green edition GPUs are the low power consumption ones from Nvidia that are cool on temperatures and more for those who prefer a HTPC/ cool PC.
If the rates you paid are lower than a normal 9800GT and you are happy with the performance, i would suggest you can still keep the card. Else check for an exchange option.

It is not :(...I paid 6.3K for the card and Rashi says that they didn't have the other model back then so they gave me the green edition:(

i finally got the card replaced and people here are so ignorant that the dealer managed to sell another 15 of these cards. I got him to take my card back.He did offer me a 9800Gt standard edition for an extra 1k but i told him to wait. So what should i do now???Isn't the GTS 250 available for 7-7.5k??Is it not a better buy or should i go for an ati card. i have already paid that guy 6k.

so you've already paid 6k and gonna pay 1k extra for 9800gt ?. its not a good idea mate. the gts250 will be far better than the 9800gt. So pay extra and get that. By the by, see that its not a green edition :)

Yeah it has but i am going to get the Standard edition from Zotac. Had enough of over priced XFX cards. I would rather take the Zotac GTS 250 for 7k than a 9800Gt from XFX.

at the same price!!
