Help with Wi-fi BSNL

Hi guys
I just got my wifi modem and dont want any unauthorized access. So help me setup my wifi in such a way that i can only connect my mobile phone to it. It should be hidden to all other lines. Give me some suggestion. I have changed my default password and also psk protected.
 
Set WPA or WPA2 PSK security and keep the password safe. Should be secure, others will be able to see your network but wont be able to use it. WEP security is hackable, WPA is not.

And, also change the router password to something other than the default 'admin'

can others also use my admin thing??
How come.
cuz from delhi to chennai. i have the same ip address. same username and password. So what i think is all India everything is same only thing is for me my modem thing will come.?
correct me if i'm wrong

Not really. Even if your IP is same, its for you from your side of the network. For others who access your router from outside, they will need your specific IP address, which will change depending upon your location, it will not be hte same for Delhi and Chennai.

However, if anyone is able to access your router, physically or thru wifi, and if he can connect to your router, then he can change your admin settings, if they are not password protected. So ensure that your settings are also protected. There will be a seperate option for this.

Also, given a certain amount of time, even WPA is crackable. So the best thing to do is to use a long password, which is random, and has special characters in it also.
 
okay thanks now i get it. But how will anyone get to know about my IP address from outside. And it keeps changing now and then also. Still i guess i'll change the password. thanks

is there not a way that will enable only my mobile phone to get connected?
 
If you want to know your external IP, goto anysite which gives your IP address, that is your external IP, in most of the cases.

Also i did not understand the part about your mobile number....
 
i meant mobile phone sorry. but what i am asking is how will others get to know about my ip?

and youve got some impressive stats 84.09 mb/s. Its better than south korea. How do you manage such a fast internet. Are you the the Service provider?
