Tevez on loan

United's £6m to 'hire' Tev
Manchester United will pay businessman Kia Joorabchian £6million for the signature of Carlos Tevez.
At the end of an initial two-year deal, United will have the option to buy the striker outright for £15m. The deal will be modelled on Javier Mascherano's move from Upton Park to Liverpool.
Premier League spokesman Dan Johnson warned: "Any potential deal for the transfer of Tevez will have to be struck directly with West Ham."
Tevez has agreed a £100,000-a-week contract with United and will have a medical when he returns from Copa America duty with Argentina.
United are wary of breaching the third-party ownership rules that saw West Ham fined £5.5m by the Premier League over Tevez and Mascherano.
Mascherano's switch to Anfield did not contravene regulations, and United will follow it to the letter.

The Tevez transfer rumours dominate the papers, although The Sun also report that Chelsea chief Peter Kenyon isn't bothered by United's lavish summer spending. "They can do what they want and we're very happy with where we are," Kenyon says.

Meanwhile, The Times predict Sir Alex will use new signings Nani and Anderson only sparingly next season. The paper also reinforces its belief that Alan Smith and Kieran Richardson will join Everton.

Former United stars David May and Dwight Yorke believe the Reds would be unstoppable if Sir Alex can land Carlos Tevez.

The Argentina international, currently representing his country in the Copa America tournament, has been linked strongly with United this week. The 23-year-old scored for West Ham at Old Trafford on the final day of the 2006/07 campaign and ex-Red May believes it could be the first of many in front of the Stretford End.

In fact, May thinks Tevez has what it takes to emulate one of United's biggest stars.

"I believe he has everything a player needs to become a cult figure at Old Trafford, just like Cantona," May told the Daily Star.

"Eric was the type of player who could change a game in a flash with one touch of sheer brilliance. He was also the kind of guy who, when the chips were down, would invariably rise to the occasion and produce. It seems to me that Tevez has that ability, too.

"What a mouth-watering thought… Carlos Tevez playing alongside Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo."

Dwight Yorke, now under Roy Keane's stewardship at Sunderland, weighed in with his opinions in The Sun.

"Tevez will love it at Old Trafford. He is a typical United player, full of flair and goals."

The Trinidad & Tobago striker also dismissed any doubts that South American players find life in the Premier League difficult.

"I was at United when they signed [Juan Sebastian] Veron and there is no doubt he was an exceptional player. It just did not work out for him.

"The difference with Tevez is we have already seen what he can do in this league and in a very difficult situation [with West Ham]. Now imagine what he can do playing with better players at United."

if only season can be won with a team on paper then chelsea last season would have won it with shevchenko and ballack :P
 
^^Atleast we have a very promising lineup this season...building on the strong foundation we had last season...cant say the same about gunners, rite kippu?? :P They dont have much to show on paper either..:lol:
 
on paper even liverpool/tottenham looks strong .. its on the field and the football we play that makes us that great :D

Tevez would relish Reds switch

West Ham striker Carlos Tevez has said that he would be delighted to move to United if rumours of a transfer turn out to be true.

The 23-year-old Argentina international has been widely tipped to join the Reds this summer and he has been quoted as saying such a move would take him "to the next stage" of his development.

"For me, Manchester United would be a sensational destination and to be a member of Sir Alex Ferguson's squad will be absolutely spectacular," Tevez is quoted in the Daily Mail.

"My dream is to be an idol in English football and I can achieve this now," he added. "I am a player who thrives on challenges. I went to England to triumph in the Premiership and with West Ham I have achieved that first stage. Now I'm ready to move on to the next stage."

Already this summer United have swooped for Nani from Sporting Lisbon, Anderson from FC Porto and Owen Hargreaves from Bayern Munich. But the Reds have made it clear that a fourth signing - a striker - is a strong possibility should the right player become available.

actually man u , liverpool and chelsea are looking good.... arsenal is shaky , but the window is still open and we might come up with some unknown names ...thats wat we always do :P
 
hmm the thing is SAF is building up for future this all spending is not for next season only. but IMO we will be reeping the benifits of all this after 2 years or so when scholes and giggs be retiring and anderson and nani will take there place directly so it won't left us lag behind anyone else in league. :D
