well if its anywhere near that price ill be getting it on very first day :p but since this is india and milkage is a major business i think the prices will be hiked to around 15 grand more ... just look at what happd with the iphone and touch diamond as well ..

Whatever nokia may try, they simply can't come even close to what iPhone offers in terms of elegance, UI and performance.:P

well, considering that n78 was "supposed" to be a midrange phone and still have the prices hovering 17k,i wont be confident about its pricing.

But touch flagship isn't 5800 ;)

Well all my phones have been nokia till now....

I would buy this.....:bleh:

If priced right

i was impressed by iphone 3g and am impressed by this one too. but will buy it only if its priced right. period.

iphone has a snob value and a fan following, something which will be hard to beat even with a better phone

for instance, many ipod killers have been made by many companies, some with better features, but the fan follwoing and sales charts of ipods simply set everything else ablaze

Have seen screen shots and such..Hav to say it doesnt beat the iphone..
The UI just isnt there..Seems verry dull...Plus, they could hav used a beter screen, this one sucks..

I hav an N82 and i jus loveee it..

how can u comment on a phone without even testing it dude

The same way you did:P

Hav you checked out the Ui screen shots??
Check and then tell me what do you think..:(

The good thing with nokia is, that there'l be multiple phones with diff feature sets..So hope this is just the sign of better phones to come..:)

1. Mediocre build quality (Damn thing breaks very easily and needs very good care. Two of my colleagues have had their iPhones broken in their pockets.)

2. Decent, but not an exceptional UI.

3. As for performance, it is the least you would expect out of the phone when most of the important hardware technology involved was acquired from outside and manufacturer has been ignoring all its other products and pooling all its resources on improving the software for the iPhone.

Thats how I would describe an iPhone. Its great as a mid range phone, but its definitely not so exceptional to be priced that high.

As for Nokia, they were always known for the excellent build quality of their phones and the core phone functions. For Smartphones, they had relied on symbian which is not too bad a mobile OS.

They have always been stingy about the their hardware in the smart/pda phones using the bare minimal processor/memory required to run the software. Now, if they can just use better hardware and UI for their phones.

As I said in another thread, its not possible to kill the iPhone due to the marketing techniques and hype created by Apple, but there are and will definitely be better phones than iPhone, but they will be more from SE, Samsung and HTC than from Nokia.

sir, you have 3 periods at the end of the sentence(unless it's a tbcontd. declaration).

what I *still* think:

at 31-36K ,vadaphone/airtel will sell it for those die-hard iphone 3g fans.within a 12 months gap ,the prices will be shattered down to somewhere around 10-12K .yeah ,its all my speculations ;)
