As Aces said, your m/b should have an AGP slot and not a PCIE slot, and that is why you need a AGP card which is what will fit on ur m/b

I don't think 8600 GT is available in AGP variant. ~_~.

So I say go for 7900 GS AGP for about 9k. It's a good card, and should last you for a good while. If you absolutely need DX10 support, then you're going to have to get a new CPU and Mobo, sadly.

Naaaa, there was supposed to be 1 variant of the 8600 series which is to be launched in AGP, dont rembr the specs tho

Altho the better choice would be to upgrade to PCIE now and save the hassles later.

Hmm its a PCIE after all, so yes plug in the 8600GT and enjoy...

If it has PCI-E slot, which it does, then any 8 series card out in the market currently will work just fine

Ya but a 8800GTS will be a overkill for the system as the CPU will bottleneck that card....stick with any 8600Series card m8

k.. thanks a lot everyone. I think i'll buy it from ITWares people. If you have any online transacting people like them please leave a note. i couldn't find any online shop which sell cheaper than them. as i live in a village i cant go to any shops and buy myself.

PS: One more thing guys, which 8600GT is the best now , can anybody tell?
i can go for Galaxy, ASUS, XFX and Sparkle. Which would be a better buy? i have heard that XFX is not having a component called HDCP(sorry if i am wrong). is there any other good brand other than the above mentioned available in india, if yes where? thanks in advance.
