Really sorry for the OT.. but I need to say something here.. :)
HI Ryuoske, but we are not gay here at TE

Since I live in San Francisco... this is quite a sensitive subject here. I could honestly say that although I am sure this was not intended with any malice, it is quite unpolitically correct. But since it is, I would like to bring it to your attention since this is not the first time I have seen something like this at TE :) In fact, someone who will remain nameless thought that I might be gay just because I lived here... rofl .... There are almost a million people living in San Francisco and twice that who commute in and out every day. How do you know that no one at TE is gay? and do you not think that if anyone at TE was, that this may make them feel unwelcome in this community? I don't think I am wrong... but my feeling is that TE is for people to share a similar interest regardless of race, color, or sexual preference.
No offense, but I would personally appreciate it if you could try to censor yourself from disparaging remarks such as these ;) I find them unnecessary and I believe that you are a better person than this :D

I believe we here at TE are a community of people with common interests that support each other. We should always try to remember that members are all kinds of different people from all over the world, with different beliefs and different ideals, and we should respect everyone equally. :D

Sorry again for OT

heh, inserting a weasel word... like " most of us are not gay..." would have sufficed i guess :P

+1, though Pixel, Indian attitudes are very different from US ones over here.

Legally speaking, its still a criminal offense over here.

Actually, although more acceptable in some more forward thinking States like California and New York.. strictly speaking practicing homosexuality is considered illegal in many States here too ;) But in a hippy based culture like San Francisco..... freedom of speech, thought and belief are rated very high on public consciousness :D

Nevertheless , expecting the same level of understanding/acceptance from an average indian would still be a bit unreasonable.

^^ not disputing this... I am sure you are quite correct :) but... we as individuals have the capacity for growth and understanding... and in today's diverse and global culture, it is even more important for each of us to learn tolerance and of all people :D tolerance has to start somewhere... why not here :D

Holy Shit! My intro thread turning into a Debating ground for Freedom of Speech and Rights of Homosexuals, In the name of Charles Babbage What I've done..:O

I believe the name you're looking for in this context is Alan Turing.

:welcome:

Nevertheless , expecting the same level of understanding/acceptance from an average indian would still be a bit unreasonable.

i daresay you can expect the same of any George Carlin or South Park fan too

Last time I checked Charles Babbage was the father of Computers, his girlfriend Lady Ada Lovelace Augusta was the mother and Alan Turing was turning in his grave because of this(Babbage getting the lady and the credit too :bleh: )
