I have a 250gb hitachi sata which i bought frm comp selection 2-3 years bak....i dont have the bill with me...

Now it has slot for both sata power supplying as well as for pata...some times bak becoz of some mess the sata power slot got burned...but now i m using it with pata power slot....Now i want to retire the drive..so thinking to try and rma it....

Now from wht i read many ppl do it via their dealer...in most cases prime....Now since i m not in good terms with comp selection...will prime able to help me???do they ask bill for such stuffs....Plus does anyone has chipcoms address of lamington i jus got their number..but their site doesnt work
 
Now today i went to computer selection for giveing it to rma..the guy refused to accept it stating without bill i cant help its 2 yr old..i said i know it has 5 yrs warranty u check your comp....he said all that we will ofcourse do but we need your bill...else u drop the hdd and asked after 15-20 days since he already has a stock of pills to load(fooling me ofcourse) and than enquire i took the drive and left...than went to prime for some dvd rw purchase and asked her to help but she also gave silly reasons stating bill is must blah blah blah(but it was coming frm her face u didnt bought the product frm us so sorry we wont help...even a reference of sirjee didnt help)...now can someone help me what should i do.....wd comes to your place....seagate doesnt require bill and these hitachi ppl says if u end user goto place frm where u bought..and these ppl refuse to accept even after they have all comp details with them.......can someone help???
 
now it comes with 5 years warranty, i am sure about 2 years back with is the warranty.

Here the main stuff is they arent accepting it becoz i dont have the bill with me(i had shifted home so have lost many documents including many hardware stuff bills)..i told them to confirm with their record and the guy says submit it and ask after 15 days whether we have record or not(earlier also comp selection sticked me some asus tv tuner card when i needed pinnacle after 2 days when i came bak and said it doesnt work they tell me u goto service centre we cant help and than my experience with rashi)..........

Have mailed cyberstarindia who handles distribution and have given their guy number who never picks my phone.....

Have got an email from eazy sir abt global hitachi will forward my experience and will let u know guys

edit::Today i asked prime for bill of e6750 which i purchased from TE ..member havent provided the bill to me yet so was trying my luk....but prime forwarded the whole pdf bill to me in 2 hours.....now thats called service

Btw can someone check whether they have computer selection email id ill try to contact the owner i guess its jagdish mehta.....

I've checked with my superiors. We will ask Chip Com (a hard drive

reseller) to help you claim warranty. However the hard drive must be from

distributors in Asia Pacific region. If our reseller tried to register RMA

and find that the hard drive is from other regions (e.g. USA, Europe,

Middle East etc), they won't be able to help to claim warranty.

Hi, we have an enduser customer here whose SATA HDD's connector has broken

off (see picture attached). I have checked with my superiors and they

replied we can still accept the HDD for warranty claim. I've asked the

customer to go to you for warranty claim. Could you please assist him?

So its chipcom i had their details earlier when i bought the disc..at that time hitachi used to provide door to door service....

ohh yup even eazy sir too forwarded same person email id....ill better mail him and will have a chat with him rather than directly going to chip com..thanks eazy and stalker.....

dude i also have 160 gb i live at chennai i could not find atny rma service at chennai can you pls give any detail me too i also lost my bill

but i went you that shop they did not replace the hard disk :S

he said the spring is broken but never replace

that bill-will-is-needed-for-rma is bullcrap.
My hitachi lappy HDD died. returned it to the same dealer where i bought,t ht guy dudnt even bother sending it to RMA, 3 weeks later i got back the same drive, still busted. I blasted out at them, they said the drive was rejected due to *burns*. when i asked them show me where its burnt, they said *inside burnt* SHEESH.
Called up a comp shop owner i know well, he said bring it to mysore, i'll get it RMAed.
Went there, he just logged into Hitach dealers's site. entered serial number, said warranty is valid. He generated a ticket number. Said that a courier guy came and picked up the HDD from him the next day and it went for RMA. Two weeks later i got a brand new drive selaed in the grey cover.
Those fluckin shop owners are pathetic. :@ :@
 
Where u stay...but my first priority is to try and inform the upper levels know problem we face....thats the reason i tried rma it to know how it works......
 
okk got a replied to contact chipcom mumbai(via support id...but li hong name written on mail) ill let u know guys on monday...i guess ill make a visit too since i need a mem stick to know the price
 
got my 500 gb rmad recently...via similar procedure...
mailed hitachi gst (li hong)...they replied with chipcom address...
went there. deposited hdd...
in 8 days called bak..and it was ready...
got a nu sealed hdd...
smooth

edit:1st time i went ther, i din hav the bill..
the guy said he will accept it if i pay 200/- extra...
but i din hav to do dat cuz i had da bill at home...
btw, id bought da drive frm singapore...
