Well after sticking WIth WD for long time i am really lost with their drives now.

I bought 1 TB Hdd to back up my 500 giga old Wd and RMA it.

Now my 3rd drive 750 giga WD developed bad sectors. And ya even that 1 Tb went dead in between whom i RMA and got 1.5Tb wd.

But that too is showing bad sectors and day by day some files or others are getting inaccessible

Now i have to RMA 2 Drives out of 3.

But before that ill have to buy another HDD(unnecessary expense as i was waiting to retire my cabinet and gfx card).

Only reason i found WD good was onsite warranty

Earlier i used to get the disk back in 9-12 days. But now their toll free number is inaccessible plus 2-4 days delay causes by the courier and than another 25-30 days further wasted by the company

So looking to get 2Tb now.I can go ahead with seagate but problem is their service centre is at horrible location in Saki naka i guess(i visited years back).

So planning to get Samsung or Hitachi back in my list.Have used hitachi and it didnot gave me trouble except i burnt its hook and rma it bribing the chap in lamington road.

I can go back to samsung whom i ditched 7-10 years back as i am really tired of Wd performance and zero reliability .

Just suggest their warranty procedure and where is it located.Hitachi and Samsung. Also of seagate if its their in lammy.

Hmm, its good you proceed with RMA feasibility in mind but i'm under the impression a 7200.12 may not require it. Not much basis to back that assertion up cept to say they will have learnt from the 7200.11 experience.

Maybe going with Hitachi is better than Samsung, despite what ppl here have said about it.

what PSU are you using and how old it is. I also faced big problem of failing smasung drives. I RMAed the same samsung drive 3 times in a year. Then the samsung person suggested me to change the PSU and no problems since then. All this time i was using a WD drive as the OS drive and it never failed even though samsung one kept failing because of old PSU.

Well i dont think the pSU to be the trouble because the third and most used hdd my 500 giga with main OS is working fine. Its only those disks where i transfer datas in gigabytes or download on 2mbps line.

Cant find any hitachi disk on ebay something. Will have to waste a day going all the way to lammy.

Also on phone wont get exact details of disk and all.

Will mail and get you guys back

I am on 500 watts powersafe psu .It old around 4-5 years old.Anyways ill be getting one from the market section soon either corsair 750 or tagan 800 .As i hardly oc and also these days i hardly play games.SO ill think that will suffice for another 2-4 years.
