i'm not sure where to post this. so posting here. i see here modded computers. i like to do myself something like that. i got aluminium and wooden parts lying around so i would like to make speaker stands out of that and other stuff. so u ppl could pls enlighten what tools(drill, screw driver sets) required for that whatz cheap, what good or bad, where is the best place to get those items. it would be very helpful. thanks i'm looking forword to great solutions.

i remember a tv ad showing a tool kit for some2599/- to make wooden shelves is this XKE rotary tool kit got such functions...there is no screw drivers in it??

^Was that the teleshopping ad you're referring to? I've got one of those toolkits from their retail chain long back and although the looks might be deceptive, minus the screw driver-kit, the small saw and the spanner, the rest works as mentioned.

The supplied drill bits wear out in no time but the electric drill has lasted me till date. The kit was purchased close to 4 years back IIRC. You'll have to buy some decent drill bits to pair with it.

Besides, the tool-kit casing which comes like a mould housing all the tools is shite! Wouldn't secure the tools and it falls off once you hold it vertically.

Expensive Dremel tool-kits which retail for over ~5k will last you long but you pay a hefty price for it. A Dremel kit will take care of all your computer enclosure modding enthusiasm if that's what you're looking for. Else you may approach an engineering workshop in your neighbourhood which deals with sheet-metal work and have your requirements told to the guy and he'd have it done for you.

thanks Gannu...yeah, teleshopping i think..with 2 guys fixing out things. i'm not going for that much expensive(>5k). how do u compare it(telemarketing one) with XKE. is the drill set(XKE) with KMD and a screw driver set is all i need. finally where do i get drill bits and how much it cost(available locally?). thanks a lot guys
