Hey guys I am a highschooler wanting to get into cybersec for my uni i recently bought a pc which i can run as a homelab what should i run on it to get some experience

i am running proxmox with a truenas vm and pi hole
but i dont know which off my devies are using pi hole or not
what else can i try im running an hp 800 g3 sff which i got from here with 15 6600k and 16 gb ram

you'd have to make it as DHCP server and disable DHCP server setting from router.

Not really. You can use it as the DNS instead in your router, or set it in specific devices.

Not really. You can use it as the DNS instead in your router, or set it in specific devices.

If you set it as DHCP every device will use pihole as DNS resolver and query log in pihole will display device IP\Name.
Setting up as pihole as DNS in router will do query blocking for all devices but all request will be seen as coming from router. Setting up DNS server on all devices is PITA though.
