After dilly-dallying a lot between Honda City and Optra I have finally decided to strech my fathers arm by a mile and sucked him into buying a civic:ohyeah: ... TDn the car twice and was overwhelmed with the performance of the beast(or shud i call it a beauty). Things I liked abt the vehicle were,

1.Pick up: Having driven low end vehicles like santro, esteem, indigo, Scorpio etc i have felt the pick up of civic out of the world. Tried to move the vehicle in second gear with full blown AC and there was no problem whatsoever.
2.Interiors and Comfort: being a 6 footer a bit on the heavier side i thot the seats were pretty comfortable.I have felt like the car is too low on the ground, that may be because i have been driving scorpio a lot off-late. and the interiors were aesthetically designed.
3.Performance: I drove the civic @ 90kmph a didnt even find a slightest bit of wobble. Handling is good tho I need to get used to it.

So, considering all these......I have finally decided on Honda Civic E(MT).
But Im in a dilemma whether to get the alloy wheeling done at the dealer or outside. The dealer is quoting a bomb(58K for a set of 5) where as after a lil bit of research i've found that i can get it done at half of the amount outside.
If i get it done outside what are the brands that i shud opt. AFAIK Neo, Platini,Kyowa and X2 are available in Hyderabad. Any other good brands other than these? I can shell up to 25K max for a set of 5.

Second issue that bothering me is the leather seating. The dealers quote was 36K. he said that he'll be using Stanley leather. I've heard that there are 3-4 types of Stanley leather available and donno if hell be using the best quality leather available(expect nothing less that the best while spending 30K odd). How far can i trust the dealer in this issue? Or getting it done at Stanley Leather Boutique a better option?

Also need some feedback on the quality of the speakers in Honda Civic. Decent/Whack??? My sister is coming from US next month so is it a better option to get speakers and woofer from US? If yes please suggest some good brands(JBL/Kenwood/Pioneer/Polkaudio/Sony) and models which wud fit perfectly in place of the default speakers provided.

TIA,
Amazer.

You truly and honestly believe these are good brands? Wake up my friend.

Aura, Lenso(if original) are good brands. Other "good" brands available in India are Enkei, OZ, etc. But 99% of them are fakes. Lensos are about 50-50. Check out Aura's new range. There is one particular black and silver 5 spoke model which I love. It is made exclusively for the Civic.

Hyderabad is a big place. You should surely get Aura and Lenso at the very least. With Lenso make sure you are getting an original wheel though.

can check out HR also....HR is again a better brand then AURA!!

Oh btw....as far as the I.C.E. goes...if you are from Mumbai..get in touch with motorsounds...these guys are amazing!

OHH YESS!! And my Hyundai is better than Kauzy's BMW!!

i would not change either the alloys or the speakers, as u will lose ur warranty if anything goes wrong with ur car regarding electrical or the suspension.Your best bet would be to get the fittings done directly from the dealer

Suspension doesn't have any warranty in the first place. Also if you fit alloys of the same size as OEM and same PCD, you don't lose warranty on the chassis/drivetrain. However before changing rims, I'd change the tyres themselves first. Certain batches of civics come with Michelin XM1+. If you get that, don't bother changing tyres. Otherwise I'd highly recommend that you dump the OEM tyres.

As far as audio setup is concerned, the company might claim warranty void if you put additional equipment like amps/subs etc. If you just change the original speakers, it doesn't constitute a warranty void claim.

These things are true atleast as far as Mitsubishi is concerned. I had a long chat with the regional sales manager regarding this. Honda with their rip-off attitude and the associated problems might be different though :P.

?????????????????

im thinking of getting the alloy wheels done at a fairly reputed outlet called CAR DECORS so hope i wont go wrong(fake)

That isnt the one. If it isnt there on the site, I'll scan the pic and send it to you.

About the shop being reputed, it doesnt matter. Most of the fake Lensos, HR, League, Platis get sold through good dealers only. The dealers themselves are not aware that it's a fake. Most of them are made in China and sent to India.

Stanley Leather !! get it from the auth. dealer only of stanley......

no matter what:ohyeah: :hap2:

fakes are everywhere....

get in touch with the real Stanley Leather online outside india, to know their genuine product place.

leather - it smells so good:cool2:

amazer, you'l get really good speakers at similar rates here in grey anyway. getting an HU from abroad - not a sony, something reay good might be worth it though...

what's your location ?

hyderabad....btw i already have the HU, bot almost 2 years ago(bro bot it in aus) and i just want to add a cpl of good speakers for my swift.......

150$ max

film songs and hip-hop/rap is what i listen to mostly......and my sister is coming from US this month so is it better option to get the speakers from US?
