150$ max

film songs and hip-hop/rap is what i listen to mostly......and my sister is coming from US this month so is it better option to get the speakers from US?

nah man, not worth it, you will get the same thing locally in grey for similar price if not cheaper, just zero in on a model and go hunting

hey rave h r u?any specific model and store where i shud shop that u wud suggest? and the place to get it done......ive come across a place in ameerpet where guy name hamid does a good job.....any suggestions from ya side

get a pair of jbl component speakers + 6x9's for the rear

@ amazer, if you are talking about hamid from sprocket, yup, they're very good :)

but my budget rite now is 7000/- max so can i just go with the 6x9 rear speakers first and add rest of the system later..........and yeah sprocket is the place.......

@ Nikhil.....haha

@ Amazer,
Well if you are on a tight budget, i suggest you dont do anything right now, save a bit and then get a proper setup done later on.

Idea would be ,

Alpine HU
6" 2 Way Comps in front
6x9 ovals at rear
12" Sub
4 channel Amp driving the 4 speakers
2 channel in bridged or mono for driving the sub
Decent RCA and power cables

That will sound much better and is better vfm.Think about it :)

Hey Darky dada,

You might not know me but here's a hard-core fan of yours welcoming you back! :D

ANP!!! happened to tell us that you're specialising in car audio systems these days!

PS: Your old TE ID is still present! Get the mods to merge the two and name it Amey! :)

Specialising in Car Audio !! wow ! well thats a bit far fetched, i am an enthusiast, thats it. ;)

Anyways, here to have some fun and catching up with some old folks.:)

you know, this saving up malarkey is a disease, i keep saving up and when i have enough money i go and spend on something else and coz of which i have no audio in my car for over a year :P

what id suggest him to do is get a 6" components for the front right now with the money he has if hes planning to buy an sub, and add a subwoofer and rear coax, amp later else get 6x9s for the rear, put in some more cash and get a 5" or 6" components in the front, can add an amp later as and when he has the cash

oh and welcome back, glad to have u back again

If he gets Comps for the fronts right now, how will he drive them ? Wouldn't he need an Amp for it ?

Honestly, there is no point upgrading the rear speakers only. Ideally he should upgrade to Comps + Amp which will be far more worthy than getting 6x9 right now.

folks.......thx for all the suggestions. But my requirement wud be a set of rear/front speakers only because im not a audiophile and i wont be driving the vehicle much. Most of the time my dad wud be driving who doesn't listen to music at all. So no point spending 30-40K, a pair of rear/front speakers wud suffice.

In that case, Buying components is pointless for you. Just buy Co-axials and run it off the HU, end of story.

any specific suggestions on co-axials under Rs.7000, amey. JBL/Pio/Polk ?????
My HU is SONY - Australia - Product CDXGT450S bot two years ago

I personally dont like JBL or Polk as i find them too bright which is not what i like.

I would recommend, Illusion Audio EL62 Co-axials. I have those as my rear fills and they are pretty good and should cost around 4k a pair. They are 6.5"

You can also contemplate Illusion Audio EL693 6x9 ovals and they should be around 5.5k Approx.

AFAIK, Civic must come with a stock HU right ? I suggest retain it, just replace the existing speakers.
