Hi guys i am garnering some moollah for getting moi a decent GFX Card....one in the range of say 10grand......so please suggest which will be best for the configuration i currently have.... :D

Hopefully, the 4870 512MB with the non-reference cooler might come down to a li'l above 10grand if ordered via KMD. IINM right now its priced at 200USD.

Non reference cooler generally means a different cooling setup used by the board partner which is more effective than the reference design specified by nVIDIA/ATi.

Hey, what resolution do you game at?

4850/4870 would only be worth the bucks only if you are gaming at a hi-res like 1680. If you are playing at lower resolutions, you might as well pick up an nVidia 9600GT/9800GT or an ATI 4830/4670

I am looking forward to playing games at higher resolution.....i have 15" CRT monitor as of now....but i am getting myself a LG 22" LCD monitor this month.....so i guess my lower resolution gaming days are over....:D

15" monitor :O

get a 8600gt

22" lcd

get a 4850, and please dont forget to change your PSU

If you raise your budget by just 2k, you can get the 4870 512 MB. And I can tell you. IT ROCKS ( I had bought it for 17k back in December! ) . Escpecially if you are going for a 22'' LCD (I am too ). But make sure your psu can handle it. A corsair VX450 should do fine.

ahhh...now do i have to get a new PSU.....coz currently its all stock....but anyway...would have to look into it anyway....sTALKIEeeee has been suggesting me to get a new PSU...for very long.....i think i need to upgrade that too....:D.....

dude..i think u should go for the 9800GT 512mb
Im using it now and its a great card..im playing everything on max..this card is so worth the price

^^^daan main uska gfx card bhi le lo
Still.. nething in the range of 10k DEMANDS a gud psu.. you don't wanna have it fried..
1024x768 to full HD... gr8 move up mate :hap2:
