Just got a new ColorsIt 400W smps... just wanted an opinion on the voltages

A64 2800+
Asus K8N4E-Dlx
Transcend 256MB DDR400
40Gb + 80gb + 160 gb
Samsung CDRW
2 * 80mm exhaust fans

not very good TBH.

Use Everest. I found that to be much more accurate.

Asus PC Probe is not as good.

Of course, the best would be to use a DMM.

^ A tad bit low, but still within the +/- 5% tolerance limit set by the ATX standard.

BTW two things I should mention:

1. You have not loaded the machine. Most PSU's show a voltage drop only when the system is fully loaded - like a Prime95 run or a 3DMark run.

2. Motherboard sensors are known to be inaccurate. If possible, try using a Digital MultiMeter.

well i dont have a dmm....but the antec smart power 350 on my other rig also shows similar voltages...

also everest shows the same voltages as Asus Probe

Well that rig has

A64 3000+
Asus K8V
Transcend 512mb DDR400
XFX 6600GT
3 * 160 SATA HDD
Benq 1640
1 * 120mm exhaust

and its been up n running fine since 1.5 yrs without a hitch!!

And again it shows the same voltages in everest as in asus probe

^^ hmmm...that means i need to find a dmm...but since the 2nd rig has been running fine i wont jinx it :D

will try to test the new colorsit smps though...

Well i ran Prime 95 Torture test for 10 mins on the rig which has the colorsit smps....

And will Prime 95 is running the +12v drops to 11.712 but the +5v , +3.3v and Vcore remain steady

@Udit : which smps are u using the Antec Smart Power 350?

I have a Coloursit 400 Watts SMPS and I will show pics of the voltage while running Prime95.
