Every few years a game comes out that makes up upgrade our PC's or atleast think about upgrading. I remember when Far Cry came out, or when Doom 3 came out, I could not wait to get my hands on the newest GPU's back then. Now there is like a week left for the Biggest most anticipated launch of the year: "Battlefield 3"

So what are you Upgrading for your Battlefield 3 D-day?

There are many folks here upgrading for this upcoming title. Some are getting new GPU's, some are getting whole new systems, some maybe be smaller things like Gaming Mouse Pad's, and Mice...Big or small...

So what are you planning?

Should be a fun thread to see who' planning on what :)

MODS: If this is in the wrong section please move it to the appropriate one.

Thank you.

Re: How are you preparing for battlefield 3 D-day??

I'm doing nothing! Just waiting to receive the game! I have a decent enough rig which i planned beforehand to be able to play future games like Battlefield 3 :D

But i might upgrade GFX card in Q1/Q2 of 2012 :ashamed:

Re: How are you preparing for battlefield 3 D-day??

Wanted to upgrade my GTX 260 because I find it struggles with BF3 even at low res but decided to wait for ATIs 7000 series to arrive....

Re: How are you preparing for battlefield 3 D-day??

I have got myself a Battlefield 3 exclusive rig :D. I am waiting with baited breath now for my copy to arrive from letsbuy which I had pre-ordered in may. :)

Re: How are you preparing for the Battlefield 3 D-day??

Upgraded my system sometime back in May~June to ensure that I do not miss out on the visuals from the upcoming games. BF3 being one of them. :)

....m just thinking of getting a decent Mic/Headphone for Squad chat etc. Rest I believe my rig is perfectly fine.....Once the game is out, I will decide if I need more Graphic Power :) ...but then again this might be sufficient :)

If you want to receive it in time, i'd say rather order it from Flipkart.

Re: How are you preparing for the Battlefield 3 D-day??

^^ Why are you guys not buying from Origin directly?? You guys prefer Hard copies or something?

Origin will let you play at 24th Midnight Indian Standard Time, unlike the Beta which was locked till PST!!!

I love physical copies. Plus it's a steel-case edition :D

Also I'm not worried about delivery, i can control my nerves, and if it is delivered like FIFA 12 was to me (under 18 hours), i'll remain a happy man (and also save Rs. 500 as i ordered when it was still 999).

Re: How are you preparing for the Battlefield 3 D-day??

I might install back Win 7 on my desktop for this title. Currently its on Snow Leopard and lying my basement. Have not switched it on since I finished portal 2 which was quite a while back.

How would the game fare on a C2D 8400 with 4 GB DDR2 and a HD4870.

My thoughts exactly :)

The engine runs on Dual cores well too. But wouldn't be very happy with your card. Maybe 1280*720 and @ low. Nothing more.

That config is more powerful than a console. So at 1280x720 you can get some really good eye candy. :D

EDIT: I think :ashamed:

Re: How are you preparing for the Battlefield 3 D-day??
