Anyone facing any issues like this with their VIAO notebook ?

Or my TV's HDMI port is not working ? Samsung C550 series TV.

Or my cable is fault ? Logitech HDMI 10 feet cable

Anyone using similar cable ?

I don't have any other HDMI device to test with ATM.

The screenshot shows that volume is being pumped through the HDMI using ATI. However, u can try disabling the other audio just in case. Also see if its muted. In TV do u have soem settings to enable HDMI input? Are you able to see video on the TV and only audio is missing?

I am assuming that the cable is a good one since its from Logitech. And TV i doubt to be faulty. The only thing i can think of is some audio settings on the lappy. Fiddle around, restart and see if anything works. I personally have never tried this though. :(

I cant see the Screenshots but i think this would be linked to Multi channel Ouput in Laptop. Basically it wont be able to send the Sound over the internal Spearker/Headphone Jack and HDMI at the same time. So can you try to disable the Speakers (Audio Devices shown in Device Manager)etc and then try once(keeping HDMI enabled)?

Thanks clown_abhi and apextwin146 for your inputs and comments.

@TechHead ..... Thanks for the .pdf link, but I think I already did that steps as my screen shot says.....didn't I ?

When I connected my Laptop to the HDMI cable and TV is on...a small notification pop up in the task bar near the clock says "HDMI connection detected"....Laptop Speaker/Headphone out automatically muted as it is disable the Realtek High Definition Audio as my 1st screen shot says.

And it immediately send the video signal to the TV as duplicate or extend what I choose. Now when I played Video or Audio file there is a hiss/shrill sound output from the TV speaker...else there is no sound from the TV spkr when you work in the laptop.

Thats all.....The Laptop came with Win7 HP Pre-loaded.

P.S:- Before purchasing the laptop TV was connected with my Desktop which have XFX Nvidia 250 GTS 1GB DDR3 card, and this card documentation clearly mentioned that it can't send audio via HDMI unless the card connected to the mobo's audio source header pin with Nvidia's 2-pin custom audio header......GKWTF this kind of cable....So It is not tested anyway since the TV bought in May'10.

Thanks for pointing out everything....

Problem solved, the culprit was the TV's Source Naming System....and there was no documtation in the manual nor in the website,

It must be assigned HDMI 1(which is dedicated for pc) = PC which earlier assigned as HDMI 1 = DVI PC.

For Samsung TV there is no sound will be out from the TV Spkr if Source name is selected DVI PC, DVI Devices.

Thats it....
