How can I unlock MHC-GNZ9D to DVD´s

Hi to everyone in this Forum!
First I would like to apollogize for my english, I´m from Chile so my mother language is Spanish.

Well, last month I bought a Sony mini Hi-Fi component (MHC-GNZ9D).

The problem its that I rent a movie wich was labelled zone 1 so I could not see it (we are in zone 4) then I realized that this compo only reads zone 4 or "all" DVD´s. My question is if I can unlock this system using any method. I hope it could be done by using the remote.

u r english is just fine:)

i too have the MHC-GNZ9D and my region code is 5 ...but my system plays all the region code DVDs and it has been with me for almost 2 years...and as far as i know (pls correct me if i am wrong) i dont think that it is possible to change the region code setting at our end in sony systems..got to take it to the service centre..
hope this would be of some help....but if not...any of our awsome members would be ready with answers....;)
 
Winsamp This is a remote control for your pc . all you would need is an infrared port as per the above post . Since a service remote is out of question . i guess that the infrared port is avaialble more or less everywhere. check it out . this may be your best bet ...

As Sunilyo suggested I tried to get in to service menú, it worked!, but I could not find where to change the zone restrictions :( . There was a menu and submenues that a didn't understand or I don´t know what are they for. Does anybody know how exactly can I do It.
