I want help from you guys to bypass the GFC - Grea1 F1rewall of Ch1na :@
Here most of things are blocked, I mean video sharing and many file sharing websites are blocked. Even entering inappropriate terms in google (according to the firewall?) gives me a message 'connection lost' and only after some seconds the connection is restored. Moreover the speed for the home users is only available till 2 Mbps,no more than that :@

Guys please suggest me workarounds.

PS: i tried many proxies but they also seem to be blocked. :@

Also you must have noticed that the full form of GFC, i have written differently, because i cannot trust this firewall, they may block this also:(

*the connection lost is actually a message that comes when the firewall comes in to action.

Ok guys i found this thing which can help me bypass this great China firewall. There is a software called "hotspot shield"

After installing this and using this application it assigns me a US IP address and then i can surf blocked websites directly.

But thats it, it worked just for some time.

Actually i disconnected my net and later when i reconnected and started this application, it fired and a system tray icon came with showing that it was attempting to connect (this is normal)

Then it is suppose to open a webpage where the status and new IP comes for the user to see and the icon in system tray should turn green. But not this is not happening now..instead the application just closes down abruptly and webpage never opens and i then have to continue with my normal internet :(

What may be the cause of this issue. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but it did not work, even restarting the machine.

I am on Windows XP Pro SP2.

Setup a HTTPS Tunnel with the help of someone outside C-Land. Then you should be able to get what you want.
