Hi,

I just bought the M-Audio BX5 D2 speakers/monitors and the ASUS Xonar Essence STX sound card. The speakers only have XLR and 6.3 mm connections. My sound card has RCA connection and SPDIF out. Now I know I need a RCA male to 6.3 mm male cable. But the cable I am getting is RCA male to 6.3 mm mono male. Shouldn't it be stereo? Would I get better sound quality if I used to SPDIF to XLR/TRS? Do you know where I can get such cables online in India?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Ciao!

Use 6.35 - 3.5 adapter (bundled with many headphones) and a 3.5mm - 2RCA cable.

You will only get mono sound with the cable you have access to.

SPDIF is not compatible with your speakers.

My speakers are both separately powered and have separate input connections. So I don't see the 3.5mm - 2RCA cable working in this case. The least I know is I will require two separate cables, each with one RCA male connector at one end.

You can split the cable down the middle. The seam usually pretty delicate and any cable clips can be removed with a hobby knife. A cable with half the length of the distance between your speakers will do.

Excuse the brain fart.

You can get a 6.35 to RCA cable, RCA to the soundcard end and 6.35 at the speaker.

Hi i had a Asus Xonar ST along with Creative T20 speakers and the way i connected them was using a 3.5mm to RCA jack adapter available in the local store. For you the same situation exists and its very simple just buy 2 of these this if you have any problems send me a PM.
