Ok, I can manage a new comp with HDMI output and I can get a HDTV which can use that output. Its easy to get them working with the cables, but is there any way I can get them to run wirelessly !!
Some mod to stream content to the HDTV directly or have a receiver there which can get it and pump it to the HDTV ?

You do get wifi enabled media boxes like D-Link DSM-520 and NETGEAR EVA8000 but those are not exactly cheap. You will have to invest close to 13-15k for those.

Philips does have wireless HDMI products but those are not available here. And in US they cost somewhere close to 280-300 US$.

If you want to fork out for a PS3 .. you can serve music and video using windows Media DLNA Server. Just watched a bunch of DIVX movies over wifi last night...... You should check out the link re: HTPC... I posted a bunch of hardware alternatives there for streaming media... not sure where the link is though.......
