Hi,
I have been using gmail for quite a long time now. Never had any issues with spam. For the past couple of weeks i have been receiving a massive number of spam from certain addresses .They have suspicious links in them. Somehow they seem to bypass Gmail's spam filter easily !. They completely bury my important mails.

Is there any way to block these mails permanently ?

The mails arrive from addresses such as these
members@job-street.info
members@job-square.info
members@jobserver.info

i just click on "report spam", that works for me, next time those mail goes to my spam box

Thats the first thing i did, but it does'nt work. They keep coming.

I went on to create manual filters for specifically blocking those addresses . That does'nt work either because they send spams using slightly altered email ids. Like when i blocked mails from the first 2 mail ids using filters i started receiving spam from the second one.

IS there any way to block/delete emails using wild cards in gmail ? Notice that all the IDs are variables of members@xxxx.info

ok i tried that but....

1.Today i got spams from "members25@jobs-arena.info" :/ so "members@*.info" wont work

2. and *@*.info may not be a correct filter term, because when i tried a filter search i got some mails that were not ending with .info in the search results . It filters both spam and genuine mail.

Tried creating a filter based on the content *inside* the email. The email ids might vary but the content might be matching inside each email ... take a look at that.

That was a good idea, but the contents do vary quiet a bit unfortunately. shopping discounts, dating requests, car deals, job offers and many such mails with fake web links leading to different addresses .

After blocking close to twelve IDs finally the number of spams i receive have come down. I am keeping my fingers crossed. hope the spammer gets bored and ends soon.

^ spammers never get bored as most send automated messages..

AND somehow some receivers respond and get deceived :(

you were right .The spammer has switched to using gmail and rediff IDs to send spam. I dont know how he/she knows i am auto-deleting his/her emails from his previous IDs.

One thing i did manage to find out was that these spam mails could be related to a particular site (shine dot com).

Is there a site or an organisation where i could lodge a complaint against these spammers ? This particular ID is my primary mail ID and these spams (5-10 everyday) are making it really difficult for me to use it.

I am also getting spam emails from different gmail email addresses with link to message pointing to jobalerts.info I do not know to stop this spam it is unnecessarily filling in my inbox.

Anybody knows how to stop it??

Can you try "members*@*.info" ?

This should work.

Also you can create 2-3 different rules that collectively work. Like one rule "members@*.info" and second rule as "*@job*.info" etc
