BTW, I suggest you get the 7800GT, it will save u some cash which you can invest in the RAM.

And yeah, DONT ignore the RAM, like me.

Remember, No good RAM, no good OC :ohyeah:
 
you can get a good OC on the CPU. You may nt be able to run the RAM in sync with the CPU but your CPU is not limited by your RAM.
 
Ok, I think you misunderstood me Nikhil. I mean't that if you buy cheap RAM which can't even do 230 Mhz at 3-3-3-8, then you won't be able to cross the 300HTT even with the 5:3 multi...

Also the 7800GT makes more sense over the 7800GTX, unless you aint budget limited...

No but wait for a week or so and it'll arrive. i'd expect the pricing to be around 26-27k :)

thanks dude just seen on TT that it will be launched by XFX soon in india ...... but if it is for more than 26k then i will better stick to 7800GTX ....coz they looks more future proof to me ...... :)
 
Yes Nikhil, but when you OC your Venice 0517 EPAW to about 2.7 Ghz or so, you wouldn't want your RAM to be running at 210 Mhz eh ? Your RAM will definately become a bottleneck.

Anyways I was only suggesting Rahul to buy the 7800GT (approx. 27k) and save that extra 6k and go for the Corsair RAM he wanted to buy earlier :D
 
Now, I agree with you. That the RAM running at a slow speed will act as a bottleneck. But what I did NOT agree was this

You can get a good oc on the CPU. Irrespective of the RAM. But overall system performance will suffer.... that I agree....
 
hell ..... corsair is not available in delhi (will take 15 days)..... and i mailed to corsair chennai they replied with prices u guys will be surprized to hear 16k ...... from delhi i got a quote of 12.8k .... y there such a price diffence ??
 
GT is having slower ram than GTX .... and GTX is having 24pipes where GT is having 20pipes .... till now no one has success in opening the remaining pipes ....
 
Dunno why, maybe they got the wrong part no ?

BTW I still strongly suggest you get Corsair or OCZ (if Masky is still selling). Else if you could purchase RAM from abroad (OCZ, Mushkin, Patriot), it will be awesome.

Try Crucial also, they ship to India as well...

Rahul, listen buddy, don't feel bad but IMHO your in a bit of a hurry. Remember, go slow, patience pays, even while buying computers ;). Hang on for a while, trust me, you'll appreciate it later :D

HKEPC claims to have unlocked to 24/8. chk out the 7800GT thread bottle posted.

anyways lets see ..... wat i get .... i am planning to get cheap ram for now and then get better when i got money .... anyways wat i will do with OCZ .... i don't want to MOD mine mobo the day i purchase it :)

hey do u have any idea about the shipsing charges crucial takes .....

Shipping charges to india for crucial is pretty reasonable... 30$ per order. However the pain is in transferring the money. The dont accept credit cards :( only wire/bank transfers.

All SLi boards have reduced in prices. Recently got an MSI K8N SLi Platinum for 9.2K. Same board was 12K+ until recently.
