No Not in Mumbai, here in China itself. For quality i will confirm as the brand name is good here AFAIK. Will ask chinki colleagues here :P

But as you can see in specs, the company is giving 3 years warranty :O

omg, u getting completely "Shanghai'ed" specs seem good on paper though

Actually i was looking for xtreamer only which is available for less than 7000 rupees (without wifi adapter) and there only i stumbled upon this. The specs look really good on paper and that's why i have mentioned that if it is able to deliver then??

I got information from another forum that this company is going to launch M890 an advanced version of M880, it will have a DVR and DVB-T. I know DVR is something related to recording live TV but what is DVB-T ?

That will be pricier and according to the forum it should be around 7k INR

I had also mailed the sales guy of this company and he told me that it will be launched in month end or early next month. Fingers crossed.

DVB-T is digital broadcast of tv signals.

the player looks good in specs.

also saw this network hdd device - - EAGET - Products_Network HDD

Model Number: N881

Product Name: 3.5" External Network&RAID Hard Drive

can you find out its price? for 1TB... :D (without Hdd's)

I have mailed that sales guy to ask about this. In the mean time here is a link from Taobao

Google Translate

Its is around 2400 RMB (Approx 16156 rupees) but in general it varies between 2100 RMB and 4500 RMB. The translation is not proper so i don't know if it is with or without HDD. :ashamed:

Is this supposed to be so expensive ??

EDIT: This is confusing. I mailed that sales guy and this is what he replied

For this model N881, I'm sorry, we don't sell its enclosure by retail; if by retail, we only sell it with hard drives, the price is RMB1450 for 1TB

I am confused as what is he trying to say :S and if this is true then why is taobao selling at a premium.

Baby Type: New ?!?

Othewise i think it says it comes with a 1TB HD.

^^

Yes this word is common everywhere. I think it means item. Not sure though.

Baby Type : New ---> Item Condition New

But baby type...

remote looks like a complete copy of Xtreamer :P i think this is an Xtreamer in sheep's clothings

An opinion from shanghaiexpat.com

just had an M880 delivered yesterday. I have no HDD. I'm just playing across a wired network.

It plays 1080p MKVs perfectly. I've actually been trying really hard to find something it doesn't play! 1080p/720p MKVs, AVI, DVD - folder or iso image, mp3, FLAC all fine so far. Playback is very good.

It also has a uPnP client so you can stream any media from a PC with TVersity or similar software. I set this up last night so I could add shortcuts to BBC Radio stations. Worked fine first time. I'm going to try streaming from sopcast when watching the football this weekend. It has shoutCAST internet radio built in with thousands of Radio stations to choose from. This worked well for me but the interface makes it tricky to browse stations.

It's not without issues however.

1. My PC appears and disappears at random from the network browsing menu. Sometimes I can browse the folders but no files. I worked around this by adding a shortcut with the IP in the 'shortcuts' menu. This has worked fine up to now.

2. It's connected to my surround amplifier and if it switches from 2 channel to 5.1/6 it sends a nasty clunky noise out of each speaker.

3. Bit Torrent client is not implemented even though the menu is there - I don't have a HDD installed anyway.

It's small and quiet and I can play my video files perfectly across the network so I'm happy with it overall. Very good for the price I think.

i think he means they will sell it in bulk quantity - mostly 25, 50 or 100 pieces.
taobao wants a cut, lol.

Can anyone tell me how will the DVR and DVB-T be useful if this player has it ?

Because if it is something which won't be of much use then i will go for M880 or wait for the M890 which has the DVR and DVB-T :S

well DVR as u know is to record ,DVB-T(digital video broadcast)- (terrestrial) is a tuner or like a built in set top box ,that will accept DVB-T transimission,in india we only get doordarshan channels only in some places, where as in china u get lots of channels, most new lcd tvs like their sony models sold in china have a built in DVB-T tuner.

^^ So it means with DVB-T i can get the TV signals while with the DVR i can record that. This thing will be used in India itself primarily not here. From this i infer that having this feature of DVR and DVB-T is not really something important (considering India as a geography) and to lookout for and can be done away with, right ??

Also one more thing to note is that the M890 is going to be pricier at 7000+ rupees while the M880 will be around 5500 Rupees.

well thats right DVB-T ain't that important for india, unless that some one is a die hard fan of DD.
well i am sure what else the DVR can record,if it records from analog in like composite it may be useful.

^^ Can you elaborate more on that DVR front. I do get that DVB-T would be really useless considering our needs.

Can it Upscale the normal SD content to HD ??

Sorry but i have no clue. Adder may be able to answer.

@adder
This player M880 is a copy of AC Ryan PlayON so any clue about the query of agm ??

well the DVR in the new 890 is still unclear, besides there is no mention of DVR or DVB-T in the eaget website chinese version.
no idea about upscaling either.
