How good is 1440p? I currently use a 16-inch Full HD laptop, and I'm considering an upgrade. Should I move to 1440p or 4K? I'm leaning towards 1440p since it's quite cost-effective these days.

Also, if you own a compact 24-inch 1440p monitor, how is your experience compared to a 27-inch 1440p? I've heard that 1440p on a 24-inch display feels close to 4K in terms of text clarity. Would upgrading to a 24-inch be worth it, or should I consider a 27-inch instead?

I’ve found a great deal on a brand new 24-inch LG 1440p monitor for around ₹8,000, but the only downside is that it’s 75Hz. All my current devices support at least 120Hz. Would that be a dealbreaker? Please share your experience.

I wanted to get 24 inch 1440p high refresh rate monitor but they are just not available in India (...and rare outside too) Finally settled for 27 inch 1440p high refresh rate. I definitely feel 27 inch is too big for me but the LG one had too low of a refresh rate. Yes, 1440p in 24 inch has very high PPI so looks great. So yeah, its a trade off - you have to decide if you want high PPI or high refresh rate.

I have a 27 inch 1440p ips monitor. It is the sweet spot size for 1440p since imo on anything larger than 24 inches, 1080p doesn't look fine enough.
But since you mentioned a deal, I'm assuming you're on a budget. Focus to get (in below priority as per me)
  1. IPS display (check out videos on display screen differences)
  2. 120 - 144 hz refresh rate (once you go high refresh rate, you really can't go back - but you won't realise this until you actually use the high refresh rate screen)
  3. 1440p for 27 inch and above 1080p for anything below

  3. 1440p for 27 inch and above 1080p for anything belo, my current laptop has a 120Hz FHD display. I like it, but I've heard that 2K resolution on a 24-inch screen looks much sharper and better than on a 27-inch. The only issue I seem to have is the 75Hz refresh rate, since I've never used a display with that refresh rate before

You will use a 24" monitor closer to your head, the qhd resolution will definitely help here.

Unless you are looking for a gaming monitor, then you better get 1080p 180hz around 8k.

Don't look at qhd 60hz if you want to game.

It's this simple. However good deal this is, this is just a second monitor for static content mostly.
If you want to game, on monitor rather than your laptop screen, get a 1080p 180 hz

higher pixel density per inch @ ppi + Higher sRGB/DCI-P3 for any given screen size = sharper, more details.
24' 1080p = 95 ppi -
24' 1440p = 123 ppi
27" 1440p = 109 ppi
27" 2160p = 163 ppi
32" 1440p = 95 ppi
32" 2160p = 139 ppi
All data for IPS panel. Higher ppi means viewing difference could be lower than the same size monitor of lower ppi (in general).
Still, there is minimum distance to be maintained for any particular size to have whole screen in direct vision so that one doesn't have to move eyes frequently to cover whole creen.
Higher PPi is better mainly for visual i.e media consumption/ games/ Photo and video editing etc. In general PPi of 95 is good enough for texts.
There are many other technicalities/ variables to consider such as - use case, viewing distance, use case i.e. productivity/ gaming/ text/ reading etc. PC specs to consider if its capable of running a particular refresh rate and so on.

Now coming to 75hz - I used till a few years ago. Currently on 144hz monitors, never had 75hz. I can only speculate that 75hz should be "OK" for productivity/browsing/ texts. - Just hunch not a recommendation.

If you are inclined on 75hz monitor, you can visit some shops to demo that would be best way forward.

Anything below 1440p is not acceptable for me.

if you are not into gaming its really a good deal,
however if u r into gaming higher refresh rate would be nice to have for competitive games, so that you won't regret later.
