Hi folks, I have this Buffalo router. Am using it for the past 3-4 months as an access point and I must say it rocks! It can stream 1080p files (I have tested till max file size of approx 8GB) to my Xtreamer (in adjacent room) flawlessly.

Wifi signal strength is very stable and it has a good range, though the device doesn't have removable antennas. The router itself is very stable and can run for days without requiring a reboot.

I have achieved file transfer speeds of 8-10 MBPS from my NAS (connected to this router via Ethernet) to my netbook at a distance of ~ 8-10m through one wall (having a 150Mbps wireless-n card).

I am running stock firmware, heard that flashing DD-WRT brings a lot of stability issues.

In case you have any questions, I will try my best to answer.

Awaiting u r reply and where is data saved in it ? USB drive ? does it supports NTFS

ajayr

Can you let me know how well the torrents work ? and can we install come softwares on it ?

Sorry for the delayed response.

Yesterday I tried downloading a couple of well seeded (100+ seeders) movie torrents, each around 700 MB.

I have a 512k connection and the router was able to achieve full speed with the total download speed ranging between 50-60 KBPS.

I then shared the files using the in-built NAS capability and was able to play them fine on my computer.

With the stock firmware, you cannot install any additional software.

Can you let me know how do you add the torrent as to where is the front end for the router as i dont want the PC to be switched on , how can the progress be monitored ?
