As the title suggests I and my friends desire to scale Mt. Everest on a budget ... inspired by the great Clarksonian we plan to achieve this feat ...but in keeping in the traditions of TG plan to do it on a budget.

Option #2
Rent two bikes and drive to the southern tip of India.

Please pour in your suggestions:

Time Frame: 4 days 3 nights (MAX)
Budget: Rs 3000 per / person.

lol @ Mt. Everest unless you are an experienced Mountaineer.

Option 2 looks better and more feasible.

Mt. Everest :O :O.I guess u need to physically fit i saw on some channel ages ago abt how they train people its crazy stuff.South India trip on bikes i guess even for that u should be mentally fit.Bottom line is its very hard but not impossible.

+1. You need permits etc and need to arrange everything months in advance :P Not to mention the long period required to get used to high altitudes. Did you spend any time considering these or is this just an impulsive thing?

 i had made some research on this some time back. i think nepal charges about usd 60k per person to allow them to scale the mountain. plus you have to get your own oxygen, etc,... not to mention be impervious to the extremely freezing weather (and lack of oxygen) even in summer there.

imo its not a park where you just trek for a day and come back.

edit: its not 60k but around 38k usd.

^ Oh yeah ... that is also a free ticket to heaven with all the terrorists on the prowl with Congress and NC governments in J&K

I don't think a tour of South India is possible in 4 days either, forget about scaling everest. Have you just made this post to instigate sarcasm ? Recently did a trip to Hampi from Mumbai on bike, and it took us 5 days to complete a round trip through Goa. IMO, one can't do more than 400 Km in a day and enjoy the trip. For a 4 day trip with a 150 cc bike, 3-4 K is decent estimation though.

I would suggest you either go to Ganpatipule or Tarkarli - both wonderful beaches. I am assuming you are starting from Mumbai

btw thats a wrong sentence... it should read " my friends and I " ....

Hehehehe.... Scaling Mt.Everest in 4days/3nights @ 3k per person (and no training)

You are right on track to set a world record.... all the best!!!

Four days! You mean to reach the top in 1.5 days or so. Skip it. instead try some trekking trips around the mountain. There are some great tracks.

mt everest is a big no..as others echoed u need to be in top physical state and have a great deal of exp....also its very costly..
take a trip dwn south...compared to a single mountain, this trip will gurantee a mountain of experiences...

---just my 2 cents

There are hundreds of lamers who die every year trying to scale everest without any preparations. I believe they deserve the darwin awards. I hope you don't wanna join them do you.

For a 3 day trip, select places within a 500km radius and then rent a bike and go around. Its not that hard :P.

OK ..so the bike is the option.

Any1 with any suggestion on where can I get a rented bike in Mumbai.

Cost ?

climbing to mt.everest base camp is possible if you are in good shape...forget about mt.everest

as a test, find a 30-40 story building and climb to the top, then check how you feel :P
