Can I use the fitbit website and android app by manually entering my data?
It looks pretty costly just now. 9.7k on FK is a lot. Maybe later I will buy it.

But currently the android app wont track your steps... Only the latest iphones have support for it... it will soon come to android but dont know how soon....
Ordering it to India from amazon.com works out to be cheaper about 7-7.5k comparatively cheaper but still VERY expensive....
There is one doing rounds on amazon india named goqii. But this seems to be a subscription based service... I see no point in that tooo....

You mean that I will be unable to manually enter the number of steps I walked when I am using the android app?

right.... steps cant be entered manually... (why would people purchase a pedometer then... and will you count your every step every time)
Though you can enter it as a activity like walk/run/swim/bicycling ...
You can enter date/ distance or severity of running/ time... and it will calculate the steps and burned energy...

That is exactly what I am looking for. I thought it was not that intelligent and I will have to calculate my steps from the distance that I walk.

Endomondo app calculates steps.
My Tracks calculates distance & calories based on activity.

I have ordered a Mi Band from Oppomart about a week back. The website seems legit but the tracking number they gave me returns a dud. I believe the tracking doesn't work with a $2.99 shipping.

Will report once I get my hands on it.

I bought it for $29.99 and not the original price of $13, yet its a killer price compared to Fitbit. The only downer is that software is not as good as the hardware. Hopefully it will be better by the time I get my device.

Here is a review of the same...

Let us know how it is when you get it.
I am getting more & more into one's capabilities with fitbit's & 3rd party softwares.
It is worth the price.

Actually I had seen this when I was reading about Flex. Also read that they will soon be launching this device on Flipkart.
But again like I mentioned above fitbit flex is nothing but a simple pedometer. What really matters is their software and thats what the price is for ....
Otherwise simple pedometer are available in India for 2-3k.
If Xiaomi can make their software good as the others like fitbit and jawbone then it will definitely be worth it.....
Do share your feedback and some screens of the software after you get the device....

Actually all these are very simple and basic devices there is not much variation from one brand to another.... software is only thing that seems to make the whole difference in the user experience.

@Switch Has the price of the Mi band been officially increased to 29.99$ ?
Even at Xiaomi shop, the price is 29.99$. http://www.xiaomishop.com/134-mi-band.html
Was the 13$ price only a marketing strategy?

allphoneunlock is selling it for Rs.1990 on eBay. With a 15% discount by using Mobikwik, I can get it for around Rs.1691.
If the price of the band has been increased to 29.99$, there is no point in waiting for the official India launch as the cost will be higher than that offered by allphoneunlock.

EDIT: This is the lowest price that I could find on AliExpress 20.51$ - http://www.aliexpress.com/item/100-...3-MIUI-Smart-Fitness-Wearable/2055159380.html

Sadly the worst thing of these gadgets is that(from what i have come to know) almost 75% stop using it or loose it after 3 months...

The GoQii band seems quite good for the price. For 4k (3 month subscription available on Amazon), one gets a smart band which also shows the time and a personal coach too!!!

Anyone trying it out?
