how much more in my Electricity BILL?

Well guys as i had started other thread regarding the purchase of Airconditioner....

i ended gettn a VOLTAS 1.5ton window Vertis Plus with 2star EEr rating.

my average monthly bill is less than 1k without AC.....

how much growth in the electicity bill should i expect if i the use Air Conditioner for 6hrs everyday ...

with temp kept @ 26 C

plz help !
 
Depends what time of the day and how big your room is and what direction its facing, and how often the door is going to open, and how many windows you got and what size windows and ..... there are a lot more ands, :D

and I see you chose the overkill path - good luck on the bills

its 120-140 sqft....
direction is such that direct sunrays dont fall...
1 window closed smal....
when ac is on, door wont be opened

overkil????

u sure abt it....

my friend uses his 1ton ac for 18hr a day along with 5-6 tubes, 5 fans, 1 big heater, 1 x 29inch TV for 12-13hrs, high end PC (power suckin)..
and other electronic items...

his avg bill is 3.5k
i have :(
2 fans (18hrs)
1 refrigerator
3 tubes (6hrs)
1 TV (8hrs)
1 my rig
bas :(

+ now the AC

BTW i tried MSEB website energy calculator... which by default gives correct info about my electricity usage without AC ie 218units.....
hence if i use the same with Air Conditioner it says the total use of input would be 218 units + 320 units... which gives the total bill info to be
in the screen shot... 2500 rupees !

but the VOLTAS VERTIS PLUS power consumption says 1980 Watts of input... shud i expect it a bit more less ?

Don't worry about bill now as you already purchase a AC, now use it with FAN, so it may help you reduce you bill to some extent.
 
depends do u use it all day or not.... minimal usage when its hot

then set ac to auto off in night , once u get sleep who will bother...

These thing will help control the bill.

from what i know add 500 rs to current bill.
 
Thats wat even i thought...

@ nite i`ll switch it on for like 2hrs max and in afternoon 2hrs...
that way my electricity bill wont rise more than 1k :D

I disagree. I find that the cooling goes down with the use of the fan. And so not only are you using more electricity with the fan on, but the AC's compressor is working more too. IMHO it cools better (and the room stays cool longer) with the fan off.

But try it on your own.
