How Much Sleep Do You Really Need?

I get about 6 hours of sleep on weekdays, on weekends i try to get some more sleep :) , It used to be tiring but i am kinda used to it now :P
 
3 to 9 am on weekdays and 4 to 11 on weekends. I need more hours! for TF2 and the guitar! The moment I hit the sack, I'm out cold. There's no waking me up till its time or if there's a powercut and if it gets really hot. If no one wakes me up, I'll prolly sleep till 11.
 
Sleep from 10:30 to 5. Then again from 6:30 -7:30 on the bus to college. One more session from 3:45 - 5 on the way back home :D I guess i sleep a lot :P
 
I need a minimum of 8 hours of sleep a day, If i sleep a little more than this, The whole day will be ruined.I don't know why but sometimes when i slept like 9 hours or so, I feel tooo lazy n tired the whole day and cannot do anything other than lie on the bed

Current schedule

4-12

or 5-13 max

somewhat same case here too...i still havent figured out the exact sleep i need , but then 7.5-8 hrs it is...any more and all i do is sleep more , laze around and be grumpy the full day :no:
 
weekdays - 6 to 7 hours
weekends - 12hours :)
though weekend sleep can be shortened if there is any agenda for the day :P
 
If I have something to do, I can go on as long as it needs to be :P

Even while working regular hours, i used to sleep at 1-1:30 and get up at 5AM and that was enough for me. Maybe late afternoon nap if possible.

Currently Its on an avg 5-6 hours a day during night and 2 hours late afternoon.

Not fixed at all. Specially when I dont have to work fixed hours now :P

I'm never really asleep; I'm never really awake... But no, I have no insomnia, though it's fuc**d up life here.

Ok Not so much. I sleep for around 8 hours... but most of it is shallow. Not that dark, rich, silent sleep I used to get when I was in college. There is too much distraction, too many noises, too much light, and as Joker (Dylan wallah) would have said "theres too much confusion (and) I cant get no relief".

As far as need is concerned, I need good and sound sleep for at least 5 to six hours... but I have not got it for soooo many days :(
 
I think the amount of sleep one requires is variable & depends upon many things like age, kind of work he does, eating habits, is any exercise involved in the daily routine etc... My sleep routine is also varible somenights but very rare i wake up all night and sleep during the day otherwise i sleep around 6-7 hrs but still feel tired. So here is my solution to the problem.

sleep at around 11pm

wake up 0445 am go for a some jogging/ walking

and then sleep for another 1.5 hrs

this works for me and i feel fresh.
 
have to stat awake till ~0030 coz of nite unltd conn...
usually am up till ~0100
wake at 0700 durin coll days..
otherwise mebbe 0800-0900
 
I think it may be an age thing too. I used to sleep way more than I do now, but I was active in different ways. I now average about the right amount around 7 hours... my wife could sleep all day if she was able to :P she loves to sleep and has to have a full 8 hours.

that's good to hear, i quit 3 weeks ago but i was always worried that whatever damage i had done to it was permanent. as for the bit about no one else being able to make you quit...im not so sure. i quit because my roomate promised to make me one meal a day. i guess my priorities are a bit different
