1. TE is against piracy

2. There is option in Nero to create ISO image, save any where on HDD, now burn that image to blank disk. I m hopeful that U have genuine XP.

So do u have the contents of WIn XP's CD copied in hard disk? If yes, then use nlite to make a bootable cd of it. Then u can burn the ISO using nlite directly or use nero.

Since your CD has scratches, Most likely you are gonna miss some files... Not good for OS CD.

Try to copy contents of CD to a folder on HD and see if everything copies fine, If you get error while copying, than you hv a problem...

Hey friend,

Thanks for reply.

I know that's called piracy. but i am not making professional cd and selling them. just want to keep a cd (emergency one) with me in urgency.

Plz specify that make ISO image with nero will contains the contents (files) of windows XP or it will make an simple bootable Windows XP CD?

As ajmalred already mentioned try to install alcohol software and make an image (u can use any software that allows you to make a clone cd.)

if the bootable cd will allow you to do so.

Otherwise, there is another method to create a bootable cd out of the os installed on your system, but involves downloading of a bootup file and writing.

Yes, making an ISO image will copy the CD in its entirety including the boot sector.

Use Nero's 'Copy CD' option. Set source drive as your CD/DVD drive, and target drive as Image Recorder (i.e. your hard disk). If the Image is copied fine, you can burn the image to a fresh disc.

If in case the disc is scratched badly and Nero is unable to make an image, you might need to use alternatives like IsoBuster.

Smith,

Avoid using nero. heats up the cd like shit...

I assume you have used a thermometer and scientifically documented your results? :P

dis place looks like a pool of losers who never tried using a burner other than nero. LOL.. :-(

Feautures might be gud @ nero. but u cannot retrieve data from a damaged cd/dvd using nero.

Try burning a cd with alcohol, and check... then u can comment....:-)

Then u will come to know how helpful s alcohol...

if u dont know to use it..ping me i will help u...

dont be brand loyal d*gs... try to sneak out and check the world..
