You dont even need the 75hz on 1680x1050,60hz is good enough, you only need 75 hz if your playing at very low resolution,to not skip frames.

Guys running at higher refresh rates(more than native) for long hours at a stretch on any LCD panel will reduce it's life drastically. There's is a difference in vertical refresh rate and horizontal refresh rate. It's better to keep your LCD's refresh rate on the minimum of the two.

Now, 2209WA is an iPS panel display => a gem of a display. So are you people willing to take the risk?

Ok. Try Triple Buffering. See if that fixes things. For Direct3D games, you have to use D3DOverrider.

Install Rivatuner. (From here -> RivaTuner) (Rivatuner also installs D3DOverrider.)

Start D3DOverrider. Turn on "Start With Windows", "Enable Triple Buffering" and "Force VSync". Set Detection Level to medium.

Turn off VSync in your Control Panel (it should be application controlled).
You should be all set. When you start a D3D game, you will hear a beep to indicate that Triple buffering has turned on. (If you dont, you can create a profile for theexe of the particular game).

Check if you see any improvement. (You should!)

Here's and anadtech article on Triple Buffering, VSync, etc
