How to get rid of mosquitoes?

I dislike DEET creams and the Good Knight/All Out type insecticides. You need to keep your windows closed with nets etc., but of course sometimes it's needed to open them. Mamaearth creams work decently, and lemongrass or lavender incense usually works for me. Personally I use Mereville anti mosquito lemongrass, it's available on auroville.com.

You have to find the mosquito leader in your house. Usually its the largest mosquito in the house.

Challenge him to a one on one combat duel. Loser leaves the house with their family. Mosquitos are honorable creatures, they will take you up on your challenge and abide by the rules. The downside of this is, if you lose it is gonna suck balls to have to find a new place to live.

has anyone tried plants to repel mosquitoes ...
do those plants live indoors with daylight available ...

Thanks
Plants attract mosquitoes as it gives them a place to rest and they are attracted to the CO2 when the sun goes down.

All my windows are open. That's the idea of having a mesh.

In the US we used these citronella torches. Used outdoors, candles on sticks about four feet tall worked quite well to keep bugs away in the evening. I wonder if these lemongrass candles would work. They are not advertised to repel mosquitoes but if it's lemony enough they will be.

Contains citronella oil. and Lemon oil That will work

Remember a friend from Singapore showing me these patches years ago and I'd never heard of them. Less messy than any spray or cream.

How long are these effective? I would guess good enough for an evening outing or a few hours at most. The patches claim 12 hours of protection which I think is a bit of a stretch outdoors. Indoors perhaps.

Limonene which is the active ingredient in lemons repels a number of insects. Slices of used lemon scattered around the house keep ants away for weeks. Put in wet trash they inhabit maggots as well.

Can't find it

Can't beat the availability of Odomos and other branded products if you need them in a pinch. Especially in second-tier towns where the problem is more acute. I'll take my chances with DEET over contracting dengue and chikungunya any day :)

The coil is really smoky, much more than the stick.

I have layered Windows, with a mesh layer and a glass layer, I meant have to keep the mesh layer closed.

Two pages long, OP's first post and he's gone missing.

I thought you meant you were using a cream. Those incense sticks can be quite strong indoors. I'm sure they work but anyone with a sensitive nose is going to be uncomfortable.

Yes, but depends on how you use them. You can open up the windows/doors, light them, and leave, and close them after 45 mins or so. Generally drive mosquitoes out of the room.
