I have read that warranty details (Nokia phones) can be obtained by entering the IMEI no in some website. Is it true?
If yes, what is the procedure and website?

Try the nokia support website? THew only way to get it is if the Nokia warranty database is updated regularly when you buy your phone with details of sale etc Dont have more info on it.
