How to get your CIBIL score

Don't think so, they'll mail back your score. Pretty handy. Got generated by the next day or same day, but was quick.

But if you know any Govt employee they can get it done for free. I was offered a free score from somebody I knew. Not that payment matters to you :)

@Renegade As mentioned above, nothing much to do. Just make sure that the details you provide are as accurate as possible, so that they can match the data and give your scores promptly. I've checked my scores once two years ago and then once a month ago. Both the times, I got the score within 4 hours.

Even i remember, I got the report instantly... I think delay may happen if there's slight mismatch in the information.

Anything over 800 is a really good score. Mine was 831 in 2012. In May this year, it had come down to 826. Still a good score, so no worries.

@alekhkhanna 803 is a good score. Nothing to worry. It is people in the 600s and 500s that need to be concerned.

If address authentication fails, will they refund the money..?
I don't think they even validate the address. There are so many other points to match like DOB, Phone, CC number etc. The address in their records is what these companies supply and you know how they note and enter address. It will rarely ever match. State, city and pin code max is what they can validate.

I was just wondering why people want to know their scores multiple times.
I have a habit of knowing the scores every year once...because my life moves around EMIs and credit cards :) just wanted to make sure no hiccups during my next loan. Twice I had a problem in the report due to the mistakes by the nationalized banks and got it resolved after seeing the reports.

Don't you think this is a pretty dangerous thing to do - living on the credit card?

How much does on miss of a CC payment hit the score..? Just once...!
Don't think it will be much. And it will fade away after some months of clean record. I once missed payment coz I forgot.

Its ok to live off credit cards as long as you pay the entire bill amount every month and the your credit usage is around or less than 50% of the credit limit of the card. CIBIL scores will at least be extremely clean.

Both the above from experience. :)
