Guys how to join

.avi.001

avi.002

avi.003

avi.004

avi.005

avi.006

avi.007

avi.008

Only 1st files plays individually and others dont ,neither they join.

^ yep.. the names are correct... cannot understand why they don't join.... :S :S :S

may be the files uploaded are corrupt...

these are definitely split using HJSplit...it might be the case that all your files may not have downloaded completely...just chk the size of all the files...the first 7 files shud have the same exact size and the last file wud be a small one...if any of the first 7 files sizes are smaller than the rest download that file again from the link and try...hope this helps...

All other files which are downloaded doesnt join like these files.

1st part plays and others dont and yes all files are of same size and last one smaller.

What i have seen if i change extension from avi.001 to 001.avi it plays but other parts dont and neither do they join using hjsplit.

And if i dont change extension from avi.001 it joins using hjsplit.

But problem with this is that i have to download all parts to be joined by hjsplit ,so i cant see 1st part by changing extension .

arre... now I guess what could be wrong...

the problem is in the name... is there a "." in the first file name before "avi" if so, this is the problem...

remove that "." & all the files should have same file name except the end which should be

avi.001

avi.002

avi.003

avi.004

avi.005

avi.006

avi.007

avi.008

for each... then it should join.... Try it... the name should be same...

Problem is if i play 1st file before downloading all files(to play first file have to change extension to 001.avi) it wont join using HJSPLIT. But if i download all file lets say 8 in this case and dont play first file then it wont join.

I am confused.... You have all the files or not... In any case you are not able to play the file :S :S :S

Dont rename first file. Let it be *.avi.001
Join using HJSplit by-
- Selecting *.avi.001 from inside HJSPlit. Make sure that all other files *.avi.002, *.avi.003 etc are in the same folder.
- Click on 'Join' button in HJSplit.
- HJSplit will automatically join all the files to create a new file *.avi
Play this new avi file in your preferred media player. Discard original files like *.avi.001, *.avi.002 etc

If you still don't understand then downloading etc is not for you. Simply rent DVD/VCD and watch movies using TV / DVD player like normal people ;)
